National Review Online ^ | December 2, 2014 | Jim Geraghty

Marco always reminded me of the high school kid who wanted to run for class president and started showing up to school wearing a suit and tie

I never could understand why Fox News was “All Marco, All the time” when he was first running. I even sent them an email asking if they knew that there were other races across the country. (I also asked them if they knew that “Mitt” Romney’s first name was NOT ‘frontrunner’ )

Only two names will get me to the poll in 2016, Cruz or Palin.

Let me make this clear to the GOPe. If you want me to vote for a Republican, he/she had better not be an Establishment crony. Don’t force Bush 5 through the primary and then claim I have to vote for him because he’s not Hillary. I’ve already told you what I’ll do. If all conservatives would make that pledge, we might have a political party that represents us.

A vote for a RINO in the primary is a vote for Democrat in the general.

Rubio won’t be a factor even if he does run. He’ll make a fine cabinet secretary in President Cruz or Walker’s administration.

...The kid who never gave you the time of day until he needed your vote, then after he got it, you went back to being nothing to him? I know that kid.

We could do a lot worse than Rubio. I’ve got major reservations after his immigration fiasco, but he’s pretty solid across the board outside of that. Rubio is far better than Jeb or Christie. I’d rather see Cruz or a sitting governor run. I also would like to see a little more seasoning before Rubio’s ambitions grow beyond a Senate run. Guys like Walker, Pence and Cruz have significant life experiences to prepare them for the next step. Rubio failed in his last effort on the big stage.

MOST politicians are like that, they don’t care about you until election day and then after you don’t matter again.

Vote for me, I care what you think, the MORE YOU GIVE.....the MORE I CARE.

I don’t trust Rubio. The way he immediately distanced himself from the tea party right after his election, and cozied up to McCain and the moneyed establishment, turned me off of him. Then, when he violated his own campaign promises and started pushing amnesty, and even cutting those lie-filled, Zuckerberg-funded radio commercials... that was way, way beyond my ability to stomach.

I have nothing but contempt for him.

Have you ever heard him speak? He was on some interview (probably Fox) and I was so inspired after his speech. He made me feel so patriotic and so appreciative of my country. His family worked so hard and loved America so much.

Other than that all I can say is 'he beats another Bush'

The whole immigration will be off the table in 2016 because whatever is going to happen will be done already. It will be a “has been” issue. So I don’t think that should be a deciding factor for a primary one way or the other.

Any GOP candidate that won’t vow to immediately reverse Obama’s lawless executive dictate will never get my vote.

You can’t after it is done. Did anyone get rid of Reagan’s horrible amnesty? no they just excuse it like he was screwed by the Democrats....lol. The greatest President in America was snowed by the Democrats? I just can’t believe he was that gullible to begin with. But regardless it stayed and no Republican called him on it.

Cruz is John McCain with a accent and without the military service.

Not what we need or what is in the best interest of these 57 states.
