Marcus Dee left a diary behind in the safe under his bed, his sister said.
It was full of love poems.
Dee wrote some. But mostly, they were penned by Nadia Ezaldein. And she was “brilliant,” Candice Dee said.
In the composition notebook to the man who would one day violently take her life before taking his own, Ezaldein wrote, “a ring can’t define us.”
“Nadia and Marcus were together,” Candice Dee said. “And they were very, very much in love.”
With those comments, Candice Dee broke her family’s silence Monday. She spoke to the Chicago Sun-Times three days after police said Marcus Dee, 31, walked into the Michigan Avenue Nordstrom on one of the busiest shopping days of the year, fatally shot 22-year-old Ezaldein and took his own life. It was Ezaldein’s birthday......
Candice Dee acknowledged the mother and stepfather who raised them are Chicago police officers. But Supt. Garry McCarthy told reporters Monday that didn’t stop Ezaldein from telling authorities about Marcus Dee’s alleged abuse.........

Seriously it probably wouldn’t have saved her, but how beat up to you need to be to get one? That’s ridiculous.
His parents were Chicago cops. He knew he could get away with it and the gangsters in blue and the corrupt judiciary would protect him.
The dude was a nrcissistic di8k — look at the photo, it is all about him and Nadia was merely eye candy to show how awesome he was. Little pos.
And yet he wasn’t in jail for the prior assaults.
“............The investigative follow-up is into his background, where the gun came from, he actually had a valid FOID card at one time so that’s taking us a little bit longer than we want, and whether or not there was any way that we could have prevented that from happening,” [Chicago Police Superintendent Garry] McCarthy said.
The victim’s relatives say she had broken up with Dee a year ago and that he had continued to harass her.
CBS 2’s Roseanne Tellez reports court records show Dee and Nadia’s sister filed dueling orders of protection back in April.
Dee claimed Nagah Ezaldein threatened to “… get me arrested, put a restraining order on me to get me kicked out of the army,” and that she “threatened to have her brother kill me.”
But Nagah claimed back in March Dee “physically abused my sister, cracked her ribs, punched her jaw and fractured it … and put gun in her mouth.”
Citing insufficient evidence, the judge denied both petitions.”

The sister says that Marcus and Nadia were soul mates, but that couldn’t be true or the brother never would have said the above. It is his admission that there were significant problems in his relationship with Miss Ezaldein. His sister is still grieving I’m sure, but she wants to sugar coat the relationship he had with his ex-girlfiriend.
Btw, who says to another person, “you’re the only thing I’ve ever had?” Thing? That strikes me as odd.
It sounds like a biased person describing TWO nuts.
Well, yes. However, the fact that HE shot HER suggests that he was really crazy, while she was temporarily addled by lust.
