CEOs Angry Over Obamacare Rules; California to Extend Medi-Cal to Illegals

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I have some Obamacare news here. "Leading US CEOs..." This is a Reuters story. "Leading US CEOs, angered by the [Regime]'s challenge to certain 'workplace wellness' programs, are threatening to side with anti-Obamacare forces unless the government backs off... Major US corporations have broadly supported President Barack Obama's healthcare reform despite concerns over several of its elements, largely because it included provisions encouraging the wellness programs.

"The programs aim to control health care costs by reducing smoking, obesity, hypertension and other risk factors that can lead to expensive illnesses. A bipartisan provision in [Obamacare] allows employers to reward workers who participate and penalize those who don't. But recent lawsuits filed by the [Regime]'s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), challenging the programs at Honeywell International and two smaller companies, have thrown the future of that part of Obamacare into doubt.

"The lawsuits infuriated some large employers so much that they are considering aligning themselves with Obama's opponents, according to people familiar with the executives' thinking." Now, what the heck is this? Did any of that make any sense to you? "Leading US CEOs, angered by the [Regime]'s challenge to certain..." Okay, so these CEOs want to put in wellness programs. Can't smoke, can't drink, can't have high blood pressure.

The Regime's apparently suing them for doing this because they don't have the power. All the rules and restrictions come from Obamacare; the companies can't input their own things. The CEOs said, "Well, the hell with that! If you're gonna tell us what we can and can't do, we're backing out!" Now, the real question is: What are they doing supporting this thing in the first place?

The real question is: Why are all of these CEOs of these major corporations supporting this thing in the first place? Well, the answers, sadly, reveal themselves. One of the first answers is fear -- fear of government retribution if they don't support or if they actively oppose. The second thing is, crony corporatism. Get in bed with the president's administration, get in bed with the Regime and get some kind of break financially, tax-wise, somehow.

That would be the second reason would be the crony corporatism or crony capitalism aspect of this. A third reason: The dirty little secret is these CEOs would love to off-load health care as something they have to provide. If they figure the Regime is headed towards single-payer down the road, "Let's help me them get there."

Everybody thinks that CEOs and Big Business are Republican and conservative and don't like Big Government. And it turns out, at least in health care, it's just the exact opposite. And now they want to try to lower their costs by demanding their employees be healthy and the Regime is gonna sue 'em claiming, "You can't do that! That's our job, to tell people what they can and can't do."

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Back to Obamacare. "California May Expand Health Care Coverage For Immigrants."

Yes. This is from an Associated Press that's so happy, you can just hear the cheering as you read the story.

"President Barack Obama's executive order to spare some immigrants from deportation has galvanized Democrats, immigration groups and health care advocates in California to push for expanding health coverage to a segment of the population that remains uninsured. The president's action excludes immigrants who came to the country illegally from qualifying for federal health benefits."

So the state of California wants to pick up the slack, until some kindhearted liberal judge overturns Obama's executive amnesty and says, "You can't bring 'em in here, and you can't let 'em stay and not give 'em health care," which the Democrats are counting on. And they're also counting on, shortly after that, "What do you mean, you're granting 'em amnesty? You're not gonna deport 'em, so they can stay, they're fine, but you're not gonna let 'em vote? Why, that's cruel." So it won't be long before they're all on Obamacare and registered to vote. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens in less than two years, before Obama's gone.

Now, AP doesn't mention this, but California is not the only state doing this. "But California has its own policy of providing health coverage with state money to low-income immigrants with so-called 'deferred action' that allow them to avoid deportation. Immigrant and health care advocates say that means Obama's executive order will enable hundreds of thousands of low-income immigrants in California to apply for Medi-Cal, California's version of Medicaid. ... Medi-Cal is a health program for the poor paid for by the federal government and the state. It has grown by about 3 million people in California under federal health care reform.

You like that? We reform it, and it grows. (laughing) Yes. "Now covers more than 11 million Californians, about 30 percent of the state's population." Thirty percent of the state's population. And, by the way, there's a story on Drudge that more and more people in America are going without any health insurance at all. They're allowing theirs to drop 'cause they can't afford it even with Obamacare. More and more people dropping health insurance.

Now, that's not what was supposed to happen. Remember? Premiums are gonna come down $2,500. You were gonna be able to keep the plan you like. You were gonna be able to keep the doctor you like. What is this, people dropping health care coverage 'cause they can't afford it? It was supposed to be just the exact opposite.

At my place of employment they have brought in a company physician and walked out onto the plant floor with the HR person and hauled the worker off to a conference room where they give a fitness for the job test. They already have the employees walking papers in hand before they even take the test / physical.

The ones who retained an attorney got LTD benefits three to four months later.

That's what these wellness programs bring. Most of those they did it to were decent workers the company just didn't like.

They aren’t even illegal aliens anymore. They are nothing but freeloading foreigners coming to this country to live off the backs of the American taxpayers. Oink! Oink! America! The land of the free ride!

We are moving very quickly to providing medical care to anyone on the planet who can make it to America. Its a national suicide pact that will reach fruition very quickly.

hmm, but the pro-amnesty advocates say newly legal illegals will add to the economy yet here is California showing taxpayers funding illegals healthcare.

I thought Cali was broke. Where are they getting the money to afford all this LIB/DIM insanity? Are they allowed to run massive deficits? Are property and other taxes escalating?

If you think about it honestly, it would be better for us if we would take care of other country’s health needs so that when they illegally immigrate to our(their new) country they won’t bring diseases with them. Should save us in the long run./s

A caller to Rush today commented how all the temporary H1B visa holders are undercutting American workers and he asked Rush for his opinion. Rush in his usual fashion when he doesn’t want to take a position, sidelined the comment and obfuscated it to Obama giving amnesty to illegals.. The Rs like H1Bs and Ds illegal Mexicans while the sheep get screwed.

Does Rush get it or is he pandering too to the Chamber of Commerce corporatists selling out Americans, because they want the USA stuffed and filled with the docile cheap labor of foreigners of different cultures?

Corporatists and crony capitalists represent a vile economic ideology that thrives on and has a basis in corrruption and tax subsidies. Corporatists and globalists seek to destroy national sovereignty because it gets in their way of maximizing profits. It stifles their control over politicians and government. Conservatives are sometimes misled by corporatist string pullers into blindly accepting big business as a friendly partner. That partnership died with globalism.

I guess it’s OK to use CA money for health coverage for illegals while CA Veterans are suffering a drastic reduction of services.
