New York Times ^ | November 29, 2014

WASHINGTON — As Republicans took control of an unprecedented 69 of 99 statehouse chambers in the midterm elections, they did not rely solely on a bench of older white men. Key races hinged on the strategic recruitment of women and minorities, many of them first-time candidates who are now learning the ropes and joining the pool of prospects for higher office.

If they are still holding them at the time, yes, since they would be drawing the lines.

Pelosi - 74
Reid - 74
Clinton - 67
Biden - 72
Jerry Brown - 76
Elizabeth Warren - 65

Cruz - 43
Walker - 47
Palin 50
Joni Ernst - 43
Mia Love - 38

Time is on our side, and it helps in recruiting other younger candidates.

Good thing, as the very next line got worse with an insinuation that values had nothing to do with it, but only an ignorant electorate voting for minority candidates that were put forth as Republicans.

The fourth estate is truly desperate.

This NYT article is cause for great celebration.

They don’t know what happened to them, and deny the obvious, so it is likely to happen to them again.

liberal thinking in action: The Democrat “base” is fixed by skin color and genitalia. Dr. King and the sufragettes would be so proud of what the political left has made of their legacies.

Corollary of Napoleon's famous dictum "Never interrupt your enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself":

"Never correct your enemy when he is in the process of bullsh1tting himself."

The simple fact is that Dems wrote checks with their racial politics that have bounced; it is becoming harder for them to herd blacks into the voting booths for white lib candidates that wouldn’t give them the time of day (and certainly never visit the ‘hood).

The simple FACT of the matter is this: as the DISASTER that is Obamugabe resonates throughout all demographics, THINKING citizens will rise up in each population.

So the scum at the NY SLIMES can call it whatever they want. Their punk sucks, as does their party.

Make way for a Republican party that is made up of conservatives of all races. It’ll happen.

Exactly. When the writer begins with a Dim talking point as a premise, there is no point in reading further.

Yes... the GOP is becoming a diverse party that reflects changing national demographics.

Women, Latinos, Asians, blacks and young people - this no longer something the Left no longer has a monopoly on. The Democrats used to be able to paint the GOP as a white male party.

That will become increasingly difficult to do. GOP presidential prospects in 2016 can be boosted if the party nominates someone like Cruz or Rubio. Which would be a refreshing contrast with the white Hillary Clinton.

What the GOP is doing is moving into the future while the Democrats are stuck in the past. This is how to build a broad-based majority party.

The headline for this article reeks of White liberal arrogance. If you read between the lines this is the headline the author is thinking: “How dare the GOP recruit them colored people we’ve been controlling for so long to run for office.”

Its poaching voters from Democrats.

Smart move. If they can identify and recruit attractive candidates, the Democratic advantage will only continue to shrink.

In other words, the GOP would like become a party of people that cares about me - not a party of rich white men who seem only interested in catering to Wall Street.

Mitt Romney is NOT the face the GOP wants and this November shows where it wants to go in the future. That’s more bad news for the Democratic Party that is at a low ebb.

There is a new political ground game in America and the GOP is learning how to play it.

Democrats look and feel like a party of old white folks ready for the retirement home.

And those folks will continue to be the public face of the party well into 2017.
