The Emir of Kano last week told worshippers at the same mosque that northerners should take up arms against Boko Haram, which has been fighting for a hardline Islamic state since 2009.
,,,
He said it was possible that the group carried out the attack as a direct response to Sanusi's comments last week, although it may have been planned beforehand.
"Whatever the case, the group has sent a message to northern leaders that crossing them will have consequences," Noakes said in an email exchange.
Boko Haram attacks in recent months have ranged from the far northeast of Nigeria, across the wider north and northwest, using hit-and-run tactics, suicide bombings and car bombs.
Hmmmm. It’s hard to know who to root for but it seems if they start fighting each other it will help the Christians.
Makes one wonder if there is something out there.
It’s the religion of pieces folks. Nothing to see here, move on.
Unfortunately, Christians will get caught in the crossfire between the two factions. If they could turn that hatred loose on Democrats, I'd say more power to them, since Libs hate anyone brighter than they are and will respond in kind.
120 killed? That’s horrible!
Civilization vs. Anarchy.
It could happen here as well. We have plenty of privileged suburban raised, college propagandized anarchists/commies prowling the the nation backed up by a vast easily manipulated 'minority population'.
Just like Hitler's SS, genocide would not be a problem to those True Believers. They would jump at the opportunity
Dreadful. Horrible. Prayers-— may God have mercy.
yes, your post is on target.
This is a test of Christian resolve. Do we view it on a worldly plane or do we really acknowledge our Lord as reaching out to anyone who may be willing to accept.
One thing, however... just kissing Korans won’t be a sufficient witness to these folks that Christ is superior. Evangelists are going to need to take the fearful risks of going in there.
They will murder them HiTech and their believers will cheer.
It is interesting the stories that are coming out of the imprisonment of a famous former Islamic preacher. A number of people around him have become interested in Christianity as a result. This is the world-unexpected, ironic result of a truly Spirit powered faith.
This is the first time I have read the so called moderate Muslim at least compared to Boko Hareem that have pubicly called to reign in the exteme radicals...
I wonder if they now after being attacked will redouble their efforts or go soft....
Having a Western world to hear their complaints may be the difference in whether they voice these complaints. They are telling a more or less Christianized West that this jihad stuff is getting old.
Is good and the Spirit when does take place where lives and souls are saved. The radicalization elements are only interested in the spread of any belief by the sword. Too many Islamic nations (example: Saudi Arabia) will not allow anything other than islam to be practiced. Only two percent of Turkey is Christian currently. Maybe one should expect Turkey to break with NATO or has Turkey broken ranks with NATO when Benghazi happened? Then the list goes on and on and on ... so yes HiTech there is something out there and something more is coming because is being enabled. Whether it is God or the Devil doing the enabling I can only venture a guess. I guess the Devil as being the enabler ... For God’s will is good and merciful.
It would help if the current Pope would do more than say he regretted attacks on “minority religions,” such as Christians and Yazidi I (in his own word).
Christians were actually the majority in this part of Africa. But our new left-wing totally PC pope can’t break off from journalistic adulation long enough to even bother about the deaths of Christians (most of whom were probably Catholic, btw, but since he thinks the Catholic Church and the U.S. are the main threats to whirled peas, I guess that doesn’t matter).
The Fighting Smitherieens strike again.
I think we have a philosophical problem when a Christian luminary considers it a duty to tell the unbelieving world how to get along and lamenting that it won’t.
I’d expect something more along the lines of “Fellow Christians, we have a challenge here.”
Most of the people killed in this attack were actually Muslims, but unless the Pope stops skirting around the issue, even the few existing “moderate” Muslims living in mostly Christian countries won’t be safe. So even if he doesn’t care about Christians, whom he equated equated in his talk today with the Yazidi, a fairly tame heretical Muslim offshoot, maybe he could start defending “moderate Muslims” in Christian lands and hope that there’s a little reciprocity for Christians, the people he is supposed to defend.
Stop the Islamist attacks, or Mecca and Medina will cease to exist. Seems pretty simple.
