JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Barack Obama last year told a cheering crowd in Cape Town that a $7 billion plan to "Power Africa" would double electricity output on the world's poorest continent and bring "light where currently there is darkness".
A year later, the U.S. president's flagship project for Africa has already achieved 25 percent of its goal to deliver 10,000 megawatts of electricity and bring light to 20 million households and businesses, according to its annual report.
But the five-year plan has not yet delivered the power.
Power Africa has not measured its progress by counting actual megawatts added to the grid but promises of additional power made in deals it says it helped negotiate, according to sources inside the project and documents seen by Reuters.
Some projects facilitated by Power Africa -- a program operated by the U.S. aid agency USAID -- were under way years before the scheme's inception, others are still in the planning stage.

I’ll tell you where most of that $7 billion went to. To the pockets of these corrupt politicians in Africa, that’s where. There isn’t a country in all of Africa, that doesn’t have very corrupt leaders. Some are more corrupt than others.

I’m pretty sure that he built those power plants with his bare hands right after he personally killed Osama.
Obama is sucking the vitality and life out of America to finance his own personal agenda.
He is extorting and stealing money from working class, taxpaying Americans to finance his wealth redistribution to blacks, browns and muslims all over the world.
And America’s senators, congressmen and judiciary are either aiding and abetting him or sitting idly by while he destroys their own country.
One of the last necessities for this region is “power” for lighting.
You seem to expect an awful lot from a guy who’s only building experienced involved a $100,000 gazebo.
Look for all the US taxpayer money to go to Muslim gangs in Africa, who will use it to persecute Christians and kidnap young girls for sex slaves. That’s the real Obama foreign aid policy.

He was ‘hired’ to serve the AMERICAN people, not the Africans.
Sounds like typical Obammunist “results”: rhetoric, promises and lies followed by large amounts of money spent with no accountability and nothing built that actually works, finally followed by phony “statistics” that “prove” that everything Obama does is wonderful.
Surely the solution to Africas power problems will be solar panels and wind turbines.
No need to use evil oil or coal.
