Looks like they're about to do this: LET'S LIGHT UP THEIR PHONES FOLKS: (202)-224-3121
Because you know in conference committee ": Nearly one year of funding for the entire government except on immigration" Immigration funding WILL be added back in.
WE WILL NOT BE FOOLED, and WE must demand ONLY a short term funding Bill through January, WHY this congress would want the next one to be hampered (by Republicans) is beyond me (well not completely..).

Sorry let me post an excerpt from the article. I meant to write the above in comments:
Even Republicans are relatively sour on the idea. So, plan B: Make the public happy by funding the government for 10 more months except for the one part charged with carrying out his amnesty order.
The likely proposal would fund nearly the entire government through September 2015, but immigration enforcement related funding would be renewed on a short-term basis, according to several high-ranking GOP lawmakers and aides who described the plan as it stands now
The short-term portion would most likely expire sometime in the first quarter of 2015, sources said. The delay would give Republican leaders more options to counter Obamas executive order without inducing a government shutdown
There are lots of [additional] ideas: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has signaled he would hold up some of Obamas executive branch nominees, others privately have been musing about shutting the government down, refusing to invite the president to give his State of the Union address or censuring the president. Many in congressional leadership think these ideas are nonsensical, since it will not serve any practical purpose.
We know why they are doing it - they are cowards - but how are they justifying it?
I would like to see a CR until the new congress in sworn in and the have the congress pass a budget and send it to the prez.
10 months of bloat is what this will be.
What about funding for Obamacare?
The (even worse news) zerocare premium increases have to come out first. There is a slew of new bad news about the law that David Limbaugh wrote about today.
More pain needs to be felt by the LIVers before rescuing them from zerocare, otherwise the Socialist lesson won’t be successfully learned.
You know, there’s 500 (or so) of them, and 100 million of us..
Just sayin’
So instead of amnesty for 5 million you have amnesty for everybody?
What am I missing?
I’ll sanction this approach because it won’t work.
Obama will threaten a veto. The whole point of this strategy is fear of a veto. So. Why shouldn’t Obama hold out for the whole enchilada?
Then.
The GOPe will either have to fold publicly, or it’s leaders will be dragged once again close to letting the tyrant shut it down.
50 or so House members want to push this issue. This attempt to straddle their donors and their base will only lead the GOPe closer to having to take a stand, despite themselves.
More to the point, this strategy shows that the GOP leadership can’t play chess, they can’t think two moves ahead about where this strategy will take them.
um.. no!
one MONTH of funding!
Well ditching Mitch and Jonbon was too much to ask for lots of Freemers. A bridge too far. So people that DEMANDED their reelection need to step up and hold their feet to the fire as promised. Otherwise there isn’t a lot separating them.
I do note that some of the loudest of that lot have been conspicuously quiet lately. The B team is still drooling mightily but the frauds that pushed ‘no matter what’ the loudest seem to be golfing or something. Perhaps with Barry.
They should not fund NPR and PBS and some of this other stuff while they are it
That’s actually a great idea! Toss into the trough 10 billion$, but 30 days at time, and watch the Rats kill each other for the limited funding. Certainly, the “best and brightest Rat elite” will take money from “those Rats that truly need it!”
This jury-rigged idea sounds like something the RATS would suggest.
Grow some cojones pubbies. CR fund gvt only through Feb 15.
First pass a Defense department budget authorization. Then pass a bill to pay the interest on the national debt. Then pass a continuing resolution for 45 days for the remainder of the government.
There ya go.
like i said with the gop-e and rinos in charge, don’t expect anything other than business as usual.
they were never going to do anything about this anyway. they don’t want the current system to go away, they just want to run it.
