The rising animosity between Jordan and Israel, whose governments are tethered by a peace treaty, could undermine U.S.-led efforts to fight Islamist extremists. It also threatens a multi-billion dollar natural gas deal that is important to both countries.

Jordan took the extraordinary step this month of recalling its ambassador to Israel to protest police incursions, provocative visits by Israeli politicians and the treatment of Muslim worshipers at al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City. The ambassador has not returned...

The Bible predicts in Psalms 83 that Jordan (consisting of the ancient nations of Ammon, Moab, and Edom) will lead a coalition of nations in an attack on Israel. The Results will be disastrous for Jordan and the surrounding nations. The cities of Damascus (Isaiah 17) and Amman (Rabbah - Jeremiah 49) will be destroyed. In addition, parts of Egypt, Gaza, and Middle Jordan will be destroyed as well with Israel controlling the East Bank of the Jordan River (Psalms 60 & 108).

I have a suspicion that Abdullah wants the “Caliphate” position. Like his father, he senses the tide turning against Israel so he will jump on the Islamic bandwagon. When his nation is destroyed, he will end up either; in Switzerland, dead, or a puppet position in Jordan.
