When Bruce Castor, then the Montgomery County District Attorney, decided not to file sexual assault charges against comedian Bill Cosby in 2005, it wasn't because he didn't believe the woman who said Cosby had drugged and groped her.
"Now I can say I thought he did it," Castor said in an interview Wednesday. "But back then I would have been accused of tainting the jury that was going to hear the civil case."
Castor's revelation is not exactly new; since leaving the district attorney's office he has discussed the case and has said he believed some crime occurred, though winning a conviction would have been an uphill battle.

What a blowhard empty shell.
You are the prosecutor. If you think he did it, try him.
This guy is an idiot.
There’s a difference between thinking someone did something, and being able to prove it.
Yeah well what would one expect from the PROSECUTOR?
Some prosecutors probably rely too much on plea deals while others are overly aggressive and more concerned about winning a future political race than whether they are trying innocents.
If you've read all of the evidence he had access to then maybe your opinion would be as valuable as his.
My first thought on this was Bill Cosby intended to work with Ben Carson on his 2016 run.
Well Gee. Evidence?
If a prosecutor has enough evidence to think someone did it, then he has enough evidence to try him.
A frontrunner for the President of the U.S. is married to a serial rapist, while the MSM ignores it and instead gets lathered into a tizzy about a comedian.

Bill Cosby Tells Don Lemon Black Men Need To Raise Their Kids,
“My first thought on this was Bill Cosby intended to work with Ben Carson on his 2016 run.”
Really?
Did you read the article? His evidence was he thought Cosby seemed "evasive" in answering investigator questions. The way this would play out at trial is, 1) Cosby exercises his right not to testify, or 2) Cosby testifies and now being prepared is not at all evasive, he is Cliff Huxtable. He would need a lot more than that to get a conviction.
It’s inappropriate for the prosecutor to comment. He did his job and should let his professional decision speak for itself. Anything else is character assassination and politics, which are not appropriate from someone who is supposed to be an unbiased professional (yeah, I’m old enough to have believed that justice should be blind - and I still do).
So what conservative thing did Cosby say recently? Must be something to have provoked this media lynching.
Interesting. Hmmmmmm....
So he really just had a feeling he did it.
He should shut his mouth. He is a fool.
Makes prosecutors look foolish.
“Its inappropriate for the prosecutor to comment.”
Exactly.
Your #13 is excellent.
I don’t know much about Cosby, except that I’ve enjoyed him as a comedian, and appreciated his efforts to turn things around among Black youth.
But, to your apparent point: I’ve always been appalled that whenever a Black Conservative Man rises to any position of power - or prospect of same - the left pulls out some version of the racist ‘sex’ bugaboo.
It’s something that Black folks should be incensed about; but except for the AA Conservatives, it just doesn’t seem to register...and that is really scary.
(I greatly admire Dr. Carson; I think he may be too good for politics, and may not have the background to successfully run. But though they are probably burning the night oil trying to find something, I don’t think anyone could ever play this sort of racist card with Ben Carson :-)

Dontcha know that it's the seriousness of the accusation that matters?
See #13.
