Uber Exec in Hot Water After Suggesting Smear Campaign on Journalists

Uber’s reputation as a stalwart of the digital economy is quickly becoming matched by its reputation for brazenness in addressing its critics.

The latest example comes from Emil Michael, a senior executive at the ride-sharing company. Michael thought it wise to tell a group that included BuzzFeed top editor Ben Smith his idea to invest $1 million in hiring opposition researchers to smear reporters critical of the company.

According to Smith’s report, he specifically named Sarah Lacy, the founding editor of PandoDaily, a tech website that has been critical of multiple Uber practices in recent years. Lacy recently wrote about her decision to delete Uber from her phone due to her perception of misogyny run wild at the company.

That prompted Michael to suggest that digging up and publicizing dirt on her personal life would be one way to fight back, though under his plan Uber would do so anonymously. “Nobody would know it was us,” bragged Michael, speaking too soon.

Just FYI: David Plouffe, very good personal friend and high priest of the Obamacult is an executive at Uber.

Uber is a business aimed at destroying the taxi business.

So, the war on women and the attacks on the first amendment are not from the Tea Party; instead, they come from liberals.

Two points....this guys comments were supposed to be “off the record.” When will people learn that they are NEVER off the record?

Also....Sarah Lacy titled her article “The horrific trickle down of Asshole culture: Why I’ve just deleted Uber from my phone.” She sounds a little rude and sexist herself. So I don’t really mind if he was rude back, except that he’s representing a company while she only represents herself.

I don’t understand why this is a big deal. Do not We the People have any right to know anything about the Moral Character and personal biases of the people entrusted to deliver the news over the Public Airwaves?? In Fact shouldn’t the FCC Require this instead??
How else could We The People watching news over The PUBLIC AIRWAVES ascertain the truthfulness and accuracy of the news being fed to us without knowing what the real character of the individual delivering said news?

Yes, that is how they look at it. On a previous post on this issue I stated that the left cannot tolerate their tactics used against them. This is why their tactics MUST be used against them.

Let me get this straight... Researching the pasts of POS O-hole-enabling propagandists is called a “smear campaign”, but their actual smear campaigns on conservatives is considered “investigative journalism”? Further proof, as if any were needed, that liberalism is a mental illness.

What does Buzzfeed have to do with journalism?
According to Smith’s report, he specifically named Sarah Lacy, the founding editor of PandoDaily, a tech website that has been critical of multiple Uber practices in recent years. Lacy recently wrote about her decision to delete Uber from her phone due to her perception of misogyny run wild at the company.
So, I guess she's been rethinking her unqualified support for the rapist Bill Clinton?
