Allowing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to ram through an omnibus spending bill for the coming year, or make other key decisions, would be like letting your ex-spouse keep using your checkbook.

We should all remember the last time the Republicans controlled the House and Senate under Hastert and Frist, plus had the White House under George W. Bush, they went on a spending spree that took the budget from surplus to deficit and doubled the national debt.

Consider also the Boehner House since 2010 has controlled the federal purse strings yet has essentially given Obama everything he wanted in terms of spending, plus unprecedented discretionary spending authority which has allowed the president to dole out billions of dollars to non profit organizations supporting progressive causes and the democrat party.

All politicians like to spend. I’m not holding my breath expecting Boehner and McConnell to lead the federal government back to sound fiscal practices in 2015.
