We now have the Oregon State Police numbers for firearms purchase denials for Oct. 2014. Once again, they demonstrate what a colossal sham the entire process is.

While these numbers are repeatedly used by politicians and anti-gun groups to “prove” that background checks work, they prove exactly the opposite.

The charade continues.

Well, nannie bloomers and the moms managed to convince 200+ thousand uninformed folks to sign the petition here in NV. I'm sure they fully explained how the whole intergalactic background check set up would work and just how it would keep everyone safe. No? Just vanilla in the petition, all the fudge is in the actual initiative which I'm fairly certain none of the 200+k signers ever saw. The charade continues.

Background checks and the restrictions are a joke because criminals don’t concern themselves with staying legal.

Another case of affecting law abiding citizens while doing NOTHING to the bad guys. What a country huh? Liblogic (aka libfib) runs rampant.

Gun-grabbing is a religion.

This story essentially reflects what my local police chief told me approximately 18 months ago.
He stated that criminals do not enter the police station to fill-out paperwork, get fingerprinted, and get friendly with a bunch of police officers.
He stated he has not observed even a single rejection, yet he must take officers off the street and task them with investigating law-abiding people. Classic.

Youre assuming the goal was to keep bad guys from having guns. The true goal was to put obstacles in the way of non-bad guys. Background checks are just another step in a long series of steps to make gun ownership as difficult as possible. Each step is ‘sold’ w/ the best of intentions. Liberals understand that single steps and patience win the day. Its really more complex than just background checks. If you cant shame or intimidate folks from getting guns make them criminals by enacting laws that restrict, register etc. The bottom line is this, the govt has no authority to ban/restrict/background check/etc other than using superior force to back up its decrees under the guise of law/rule/fiat.

LOL! I’m not assuming it. Most of us on FR know exactly what the nannies are doing. Slippery slope with a little less angle so as not to confuse the no/low voters. After all, it’s for your safety and that of your children.

The system is stacked to deny firearms to people who are law-abiding while doing virtually nothing to criminals and the mentally ill.

The bottom line. Just step back in time to 1934 and the NFA which placed a tax and registration on machine guns because gangsters were mowing down gangsters. Had the bill not passed, who knows what the bad guys would have been able to do to one another? What the people got was the exact opposite of that desired objective eliminating gangsters.

The same people who demand that a person not show ID to vote, because it is their right are the same people who demand a person jump through hoops to purchase a firearm, which is also their right.

Go Figure.
