Oh for sure they need to be reminded. No question. But the solution is to not keep making excuses to ourselves and everyone else and stop sending people to DC that need ‘reminding.’

If we cannot come up with a couple/few hundred people on the right wing out of 320,000,000 million people in America to choose from, then we may as well go home now. There is simply no point to playing the game election after election where Election Day +1 we stomp feet and suddenly regain the integrity we threw away the day before to cower in a corner in mortal fear to elect the very people we bitch about.

That we can agree with..however I’ve been one to believe the less legislating both rat parties are doing I get to keep what little freedoms I have that remain. I encourage grid lock at times :-)

It’s like Rush said last week. It’s not like they lost the next election after the last shut down. Real people out here could care less if they shut it down especially for a good reason. It’s a choice, shut it down or impeach, and stand up to the media, or let the country go to total destruction under a lunatic president. Seems like a simple choice to me.

You got it- Use this format to kill IRS, BATF, EPA, CDC and dismantle Homeland Security as a beginning, including any agencies used for his illegal immigration activities.

I agree. The level of corruption under Jarrett, Holder, Obama and the all the dems is astounding. Why they aren’t calling for the fraud in chief to resign or calling for impeachment is quite astounding too.

The thing is, look at examples such as Kelly Ayotte and Jeff Flake. They were elected to be constitutional conservatives. They got to DC and traitored the voters before they even had time to unpack. FWIW, this years conservatives elected to the Senate seem more grounded in their values.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could sue those who broke campaign promises with fraud? <^..^>

It totally reeks of collusion between the two party’s.

IMO.

Shutting the government down won't cause the country to burn.

If you think so, you put too much faith in the federal government.

States do most of the heavy lifting anyway.

Why not just shut little Barry down. Take away his pen and phone.

Correct...He’s already stated that there will be “no government shutdown”...a perfect storm is about to be unleashed.

“The establishment GOP wants the cheap labor for their corporate sponsors.”

You have it exactly right. Both the left and the right have their hand out for $$$. This is the real problem on both sides of the aisle. Our side should at least name the names of these corporate sponsors and companies and declare boycotts of their products and expose their anti-American cheap labor activities. They give to both sides of the political aisle but some have their favorite party or elected official. Maybe that’s where some Tea Party $$$ and energy needs to be expended. Light is usually the best disinfectant.

Thank you for referencing that article forbushalltheway. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

If voters had been exercising their voting muscle to make sure that the federal government worked within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, then we’d basically have the following situation with respect to federal government shutdowns.

Military issues aside, since about the only constitutional power that the states have delegated to the feds which could affect most citizens on almost a daily basis is making policy for the US Mail Service, then all that a federal government shutdown should amount to for most citizens is a possible disruption in their mail services.

Otherwise, most other federal government services that many citizens depend on are actually based on 10th Amendment-protected state powers and associated state revenues that federal politicians stole from the states so that they could establish such services under the federal government. Politicians wrongly promised such services to get elected regardless that the states have never amended the Constitution to grant the federal government the power to establish such programs.

Sadly, the reason that citizens are willing to trade their votes for constitutionally indefensible federal government services is this imo. With all due respect to mom & pop, parents have not been making sure that their children are being taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers.

Again, if the states were running many of the “government” services that the federal government is now running, instead of the federal government doing so, then most citizens probably wouldn’t regard a federal government shutdown, arguably little more than a disruption in mail services, as a major inconvenience.

If Obama can use an unconstitutional Executive Order to grant millions of non-Americans amnesty, he can also use an Executive Order to keep the U.S. government open for the sake of 320 million American citizens.

Once Obama signs an Executive Amnesty, he becomes a dictator, and the other two branches of government become meaningless. At that point, Mitch McConnell and John Boehner would be powerless to do anything except whine.

So why is it too much to ask our Republican leadership — Turtle Dee and Turtle Dum — to at least fight back now while they can? They should be holding strategy meetings with Ted Cruz, not schmoozing, as always, with Harry and Nancy.

“you might as well impeach him too. The average Joe won’t notice a thing.”

Doesn’t matter, just stop this Amnesty crap.

I agree, fewer bills are better for us and I don’t think we should have grid lock all the time but they should debate the difference so all the points are seen. This crap of catering to the outside interests instead of our interests when making the decision on what to present or pass is far overdone.

“They would always get the blame as they are always at fault.”

We’ll see. Obama DOES NOT have a strong hand here. If Cruz, Brat, and a few others can keep the Republicans steady, they may just pull it off.

The thought of Obama going before the public and explaining that that our precious federal government is shutdown because those nasty Republicans won’t give him the money to hand Amnesty to 5 Million Illegals is PRICELESS, and certainly a much tougher sell than saying that the Republicans are blocking “health insurance reform”.
