Federal judges are telling California to speed up its process for releasing some nonviolent inmates as part of a previous order forcing the state to sharply reduce its prison population.

The three-judge panel on Friday gave the state a Jan. 1 deadline to start considering parole for nonviolent second-strike inmates.

I think that white collar crime people should be made to pay back those they swindled instead of jailing them and the taxpayers having to pay for their incarceration.

We have no states anymore, only federal judges.

When they’re not breaking into your apartment.

Non-violently of course.

Looks that way.

And a judge is nothing but a lawyer with too much power.

Isn't this kind of what Obama is proposing to do?
Circumvent the law ?

We will eventually read about a gruesome crime involving one of these criminals who has dozens of previous convictions, but whose current conviction is considered non-violent. Sad thing is, it probably won’t involve a family member of one of these judges.

The states ought to tell the Federal Judiciary to “Eff Off”.

What could possibly go wrong? I mean they are non-violent, at least until they got prison training by others. I mean non-violent usually means drug or property crimes. So you steal a man's car and he can no longer work and support his family, its not like the crook did any real harm such as would happen in a violent situation.

Clean out all the prisons. Also let's give them the right to vote while we are at it. Oh, if we are restoring rights, how about the right to own a firearm, after all they may want to participate in subsistence hunting or armed robbery.

They could start executing those on death row. That would free up at least 400 beds.

I think we should execute everyone in prison who is a tattooed member of a street gang. No matter what they are in there for. Take ‘em out to an abandoned mine shaft and slide them down out of the back of dump trucks.

But of course that’s just crazy talk.
