Scott Walker’s 2016 Challenge
Wall Street Journal ^ | 11/13/2014 | KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL

What still gives a lot of Republican leaders pause about Scott Walker is, well, Scott Walker. The Wisconsin dynamo is good, but the knock on him is that he knows it. He has a reputation as a one-man band, serving these past four years as his own chief speechwriter, chief policy aide, chief fundraiser, and chief political analyst. He is known to listen to a few trusted Wisconsin gurus—like consultant R.J. Johnson—but for the most part is anti-team effort.

Cruz is my far and away first choice. But Walker>> Bush/Romney/Christie. About the same as Perry....Perry is better on the stump but Walker seems to handle the MSM with ease.

If Walker can show he has he tv presence and personality, I am on board. He’s a great governor and has proven to be quite successful winning elections.

Yep, those two will look great campaigning for Walker’s presidential campaign in October 2016.

Walker would have to come out in strong favor of building the fence and manning it for a decade before any next step on amnesty.

That’s the ticket I’d like to see (either way). Now, if only I could cross the border in 2016 and vote. Wait! I will probably be able to by then!

his own chief speechwriter, chief policy aide, chief fundraiser, and chief political analyst.

Considering what Walker has faced since his 2010 election, it sounds like that process has worked for him. I'm sure he'd have the right people on board if he launched a national campaign.

We have a very good bench in the next election. It will be hard to choose between them.

The cheese fell off McCain's cracker long ago, so he isn't even worth a second thought even though the RINO's will be in "full salvo" mode to force him on us.

It’s a poorly guarded secret...simply paste a WSJ article headline into Google and click the link. Voila, you are in behind the paywall.

“......serving these past four years as his own chief speechwriter, chief policy aide, chief fundraiser, and chief political analyst.”.....

You forgot to mention that he also beat back three attempts to out him from office and all by himself as you suggest. What other politician has done that lately?

Walker is TOO GOOD of a man to be thrust into that bag full of back stabbing, crooked, den thieves in Washington. We in Wisconsin would like to keep him here. Hands off.

Dave, I know you meant to reply to someone else....But, I don’t blame you for wanting to keep Walker. The fact that he made many of his own decisions in a wide variety of political areas and was victorious says he is a unique and strong man.

9/11.

It turned my heart toward America in a profound and appreciative way. I sat and cried for 3 days and that’s when I started following, very closely.

I also had a rabid anti-America neighbour at the cottage. She was such a nut that anything she hated, I figured must be worth checking out. We wound up not speaking because of my American flag.
