Jonathan Gruber’s payday: Taxpayers paid millions for the deceptions of the Obamacare architect
The Washington Times ^ | November 13, 2014 | The Washington Times

The MIT economist who is the brains behind Obamacare has made quite a stir with his admission that President Obama’s health care takeover was built on lies. Mr. Gruber says he was willing to say and do whatever it took to advance the scheme, and now it’s clear why. Obamacare made Mr. Gruber a multimillionaire, and at the expense of the taxpayers.

Video of Mr. Gruber’s remarks, delivered at a University of Pennsylvania health care conference last year, has surfaced in which he explained how the details of Obamacare were kept under wraps until the measure was rammed through the Democratic Congress with no opportunity for anyone to read the legislation.

Sounds like fraud to me. Any way to check that contract he was working under?

Dear congress,

Please drag Gruber’s butt in front on congress and question him.

Thank you.

Asset seizure. They do it to criminals. This guy’s worse and he’s merely the tip of the iceberg. Lots more on both sides of the fence, and the aisle.

Minnesota, for example, used federal Obamacare grants to pay Mr. Gruber to attend one meeting, participate in a biweekly email list and print a copy of the report, all for $329,000. Wisconsin paid Mr. Gruber $400,000 for the same material, requested by the office of then-Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat. When the report was presented, Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, didn’t want Mr. Gruber at the news conference. Vermont is paying him another $400,000. Such a deal!

West Virginia, Maine, Colorado and Oregon have partaken of Mr. Gruber’s services, too, guaranteeing him a tidy sum.

What a gravy train! All that on top of the original $400K from the federal govt.

He should be stripped of every dollar he was paid, and the money should be used to pay 0.000000001% of the increased national debt brought on by his lies...

Unbelievable. Are we supposed to just ignore this?

Are they going to tell us "Nothing to see here-no big deal"?

How many times have they ,(Gruber and various dems), been caught admitting to lying, or lying outright (Pelosi) to the public?

And now we find out we're paying to be lied to. Fabulous.

One of two things should be happening here:

1) Gruber has defrauded those who hired him and the democrats should be going after him, or

2) The democrats hired him to do exactly what he has done, and the republicans should be going after them.

There really aren’t any other options. I have no doubt it’s #2.

Asset seizure

Absolutely.

However, Mr. Gruber, Obama and the rest in D.C. are basically correct regarding mass stupidity.

Ya tell people they're government is routinely lying, looting and robbing them and some still can't quite grasp it or just simply refuse to believe it.

The pessimist in me says “yes” to your first two questions. Perhaps the new R majority will surprise me but I doubt it.

Ah, they would lie about just what program it was that Herr Doktor-Professor Oberstleutnant Gruber was being paid through.

Haughty condescension in regards to the degree of intellectual attainment on the part of individuals representing the government policies that are imposed through chicanery and misrepresentation, was very much a hallmark of the Nationalist Socialist German Workingmen’s Party of Germany, and it was widely employed whenever there was some resistance to the implementation of that “new” policy.

Fraud is not a recognizable or separate trait when the entire scheme is based on half-truths and dissimulation.

Interesting to see other foolish states paying big sums to Mr. Gruber. What are they buying? Just phony government healthcare modeling and reports that predict a lowering of costs when in fact even Gruber himself knows better.

Also nice to see that Governor Walker can spot a Phony Lib when he sees one.

And, due to the Gruber-Gift that just keeps giving, I have a feeling that our old friend Mitt is having second thoughts about 2016. After all, who would want to answer questions like: “Is it true that, as Governor of Massachusetts, you helped launch Mr. Gruber’s career?”.

How much did this millionaire and billionaire contribute to various ‘Rats?

Apparently, not very much.

The only ones that show up at opensecrets.org are a $2000 contribution to J. Fraude Kerry in 2004, and $500 to King Obongo in 2012.

So, it seems "Professor" Gruber is something of a tightwad.
