I still can’t believe those two sonzabitches were re-elected last go-round.

Maybe that Gruber clown was half-right.

Thanks for the link. John McLame is a self serving asshole along the lines of Teddy Kennedy and Jon Carry. I think it is a prerequisite for Senator.

But I have a hard time believing he flipped a switch in his plane that ejected two bombs that eventually blew up. There is a squat switch in the landing gear bay that disarms the firing circuits in the weapons pylons as long as there is weight on the landing gear. When I was in the Air Force as a munitions troop, you manually disarmed it for operational/voltage checks by pulling a safety pin and rotating it to an unsafe position.

If the switch on McLame’s plane was operating correctly, the only way the bombs would drop off is if the plane took off (with McLames switches in the eject position) or they were blown off the racks by a previous explosion.

McLame still stinks. And he was a putz for all the crap he pulled after the explosion. But he didn’t blow up the Forestall.

I didn’t blow up the Forestall either; I guess that’s one thing I have in common with McCain.

Proof positive that McCain is completely "out of touch" with reality.

John McInsane - dementia's best friend.

McLame is an ass but don't spread false rumors about him on the Forrestal.

General consensus is not always fact, but neither are official reports.

"McCain crashed 5 jets, plus was responsible for the Forrestal fire. Something made the plane behind McCain fire a rocket, which hit McCain's external center fuel tank, and caused a fire. McCain panicked, and dropped two bombs into the fire. Surviving crewmen of the USS Forestal and those who investigated the Forrestal fire case reported that McCain deliberately 'wet-started' his A-4E Skyhawk to shake up the guy in the F-4 Phantom behind his plane. 'Wet-starts', done either deliberately (the starter motor switch allowed kerosene to pool in the engine and give a wet start) or accidentally, shoot a large flame from the tail of the aircraft.'Wet starting' was a common practice among young 'hot-dog' pilots. In McCain's case, the 'wet-start''cooked off' and launched the M34 Zuni rocket from the rear F-4 that punctured the Skyhawk's fueltank, knocked the M-65 1000 lb bomb off it's 500 lb rated mount, and touched off the explosions and massive fire. ."

If you look at the parking plan on the deck at the time of the accident all the accidemt aircraft were parked with the rear of the planes pointing off the deck...over the ocean. The incident described could not have happened.

Its been debunked on FR before.

For once the very stupid John McCain is right.

It’s worth recalling that the Arizona GOP censured him earlier this year for the backstabber and sellout that he is.

All he needs is his fat horney daughter to cover for him. Then maybe the Tea Party won’t see him.

I wonder what this switch does... (click)

In John Mccain’s experience it dropped two bombs on deck.

Why worry about the truth, John?

You fooled most everybody in 2010.

That won’t work again.

The question is not whether Gruber is right or wrong. A great number of people voting are either stupid or gullible. I think that was problem with certainty in 2012. An election about mythical issues like contraception bans, when we had a failing economy and government that didn’t even get discussed.

I guess this means that John McCain will run again. He was undecided when I last read it. It’s only about 720 days until the next election. A whole lot can happen needless to say.

CA- I’m hearing that geriatric leftist Barbara Boxer will retire. Republican chances are not great, but if they come up with an interesting nominee, who knows?

FL- Will Marco Rubio run for President? Who knows? It’s possible that Congressman Pat Murphy, fresh off an easy reelection in a district that voted narrowly for Romney, could run.

IL- Democrats appear likely to target Mark Kirk, even though he’s the least conservative Republican in the Senate, because he represents a strongly Democrat state.

LA- What will David Vitter do? He seems to be running for Governor, but faces strong primary opposition from SOS Jay Dardenne, who is seeking to become the state’s first Jewish Governor. All bets are off until after that election.

MO- Will Roy Blunt seek another term? The Republican Conference in the Senate needs some new conservative blood.

There are some more, but it’s still very, very early.
