Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) implied that he would run for another Senate term in 2016 and is worried that he is the top target of conservatives and Tea partiers who have never trusted him.

“You have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst,” McCain told MSNBC on Wednesday when asked if he would run for reelection in 2016. “I definitely think that I would have to absolutely anticipate a tea party candidate or two or three... everybody tells me that I’m the number one target of the tea partiers.”

McCain told the left-wing outlet that he was "absolutely" leaning toward running again and said he talked with "finance people in the state," in addition to "different groups and organizations ranging from the Arizona Chamber to the Southern Arizona Defense Alliance to build the coalitions we need to build" for reelection.

Further evidence of how intoxicating the lust for political power is.

At that age, after all he’s been through, you’d think one would want to retire (years ago) and live a good comfortable family, healthy life.

But no, the same ones, time after time just want to keep coming back in their selfish “look at me” ego trips.

Enough, Senator. Time to move on and others to have a chance to help correct the messes you’ve helped create.

And rather than trying to find common ground with the tea party and adapt, he will fight. Now with democrats he will go for the common ground approach.

McCain has his good points but he is also a perfect example of how badly we need term limits. I don’t know what it is about the Senate but it has a profound effect on the psyche of many who serve.

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him switch parties if he thought his career was in jeopardy. He’s nothing but an opportunistic self-obsessed politician.

Well Senator, it’s you and Harry Reid we hope to replace in 2016. We’re still undecided which has done the most damage.

Just follow the Constitution's principles, and you will have no opposition from the "Taxed Enough Already" movement members, Sen. McCain!!!!

Instead, you're feeding the Democrat's strawman image of who the "TEA" movement members are and what they're about!!!!

Enough already!!!!

Of course he gets to go to MSLSD where they welcome him calling out the Tea Party. This fool doesn’t get it. He wants to find commonality with the side that is ruining this country yet he continues to think they want bipartisanship as much as he does. What a fool! The GOPe is made up with a bunch of them. Also, they’re all compromised individuals who are all on the take. Why else would Speaker Bonehead and Mitch McCoward along with John McVain are so tepid in their attacks on the Democratic Party. The Dems got dirt on them. What else could it be?

The fact that Sarah Palin is so loyal she won’t refuse to campaign for you is the only thing that gives you hope, John.

John, you’ll be 80 in 2016. Retire and enjoy what life you have left.

McCain shouldn’t have to be anyone’s number one target. You would think the voters of Arizona are finally sick enough of his crap to make it academic.
