One-Percenters Aiming For Universal Background Check Initiative In Nevada

After pouring in millions to fund a universal background check initiative that passed in Washington State on November 4, Michael Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety is preparing to bypass the Nevada legislature and impose universal background checks on Nevadans.

The Hill reports that Bloomberg's group gathered 250,000 signatures and will ask the state legislature to pass universal background checks during 2015. If the legislature refuses, Bloomberg's group will do an end-around the legislature as they did in Washington state by pushing a ballot initiative in 2016.

I emailed AWR Hawkins yesterday morning about the nannies and he promised he'd get something out on the plight of Nevadans now that the circus has filled the clown bus with no/low voters. Hopefully there will be much discussion at the gun show at Grand Sierra Resort this weekend. One interesting letter in the comment section is this:

So many Nevadans were supporting this measure that Everytown had to pay airfare, lodging and compensation for out of state signature gatherers to get enough signatures for the initiative. The epitome of grass roots organizations, if those "grass roots" organizations are comprised of plastic Astro-turf gardeners.

Do you hurt over the gun violence in our country and are you ready to do something about it? We're teaming up with Everytown for Gun Safety and Nevadans for Background Checks to pull together a group to organize in Nevada from November 5-11th. We'll fly you out, put you up, and pay you for your week of work. Can you join us?

A bunch of conservative Mormons need to relocate from St. George to Mesquite to reverse the decline of Nevada from all the idiots moving to Las Vegas.

Not sure if there are enough Mormoms to act as a counterbalance to the amount of morons. Of course the out of staters paid for folks to come to NV and canvas the neighborhoods to gather signatures. Did they lie about the initiative? Um, probably.

Might want to check those 250,000 signatures to see how many of them look the same. Oh and look for friends of Bloomberg who have very sore fingers while you’re at it too. Leftists doing what they do best - using any means to to achieve their goal to control others using the justify the ends method even if it involves lying, cheating, or stealing.

They also might want to go down that list and contact the people to see if they actually signed it. If not, it wouldn’t the first time the leftists have pulled that trick.I think they just buy lists of people and then have their staff sign a list that they compile from them...

The number required to get the initiative placed on the active “list” was a little over 101 thousand. The state is only required to check 5% from each of the 4 districts for validity. More than 150 thousand would have to be falsified to get it tossed. Unless someone can prove that they didn’t reach the 27+ thousand from one of the districts, it’s going forward.

Looks like they “got” 250K signatures just in case investigators figured out 150K of them were fake....: )

They call this a “Universal Background Check” initiative. Those are the magic words to pass it by low information voters.

It is really a ban on private sales and precursor to registration initiative.

All the firearm information has the be recorded on federal forms, and all transfers and sales (with a few exceptions) have to go through federal dealers.

They do not need the firearm information for a background check.

Why not just take a swab of our DNA and run a screening for violent tendencies while they’re at it? The applications in other areas of our lives to regulate (prohibit) us would be great. And the leftists would be so happy. They so want to bring the dystopian future on us because they’ll be able to run around in ObiWanKinobi robes and see robots kill patriots (the rebellion). Won’t it be so much f-u-n? (being facetious here)
