GOP Aims to Thwart Obama's Lawless Immigration Plans
Creators Syndicate ^ | November 14, 2014 | David Limbaugh

It's hard to conceive of a presidential administration more cynical than one that would delay putting off issuing a lawless executive order on immigration until right after the congressional elections, but President Obama is doing just that.

If he were sure the American public would support his unilateral action, he would not have hesitated to issue it prior to the elections, but he knew it wouldn't. Even if many people agree with the substance of his policy, which is hardly a foregone conclusion, he knows they don't agree with his method of thwarting the Congress, the Constitution and the rule of law.

But this defiant ideologue clearly doesn't care. He not only is unapologetic about brazenly going forward with his quasi-amnesty plan but also will do it with a spirit of moral indignation, an attitude that he, in his sovereign power, is tired of waiting on those in the coequal legislative branch to accede to his executive demands and to surrender their will — and that of the people they represent — to him.

Fox News reports that President Obama is planning to unveil, as early as Nov. 21, a 10-part plan for overhauling U.S. immigration policy through executive action — action that would include suspending deportation for millions of people living in the United States illegally.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest denied that Obama had made a final decision on taking these unilateral steps and said he will wait to announce his plans until after he returns to Washington from his Asia-Pacific trip. But Americans are well aware of what it means when Obama says he hasn't quite made up his mind, such as with his "evolving" charade on same-sex marriage...

Republicans better acquire some spine in a hurry and prevent the dictator-in-chief from pulling off this lawlessness.

Aren't most of those in Congress lawyers? If so, they should get busy. I'm sure what Obama proposes regarding “deferred action” is illegal.

Republicans better acquire some spine

Lol. If they were going to do that, you would think they would have done so from 2000-2006, when they had control of the House, Senate AND White House. But they didn't. Instead, they bowed to "bipartisanship", and now we're paying for it.

You’re correct and this is precisely the time to stop it.

Prevent this turkey from carrying it out by withholding funds and if that fails impeach him as soon as he signs the order.

Republicans better ditch Boehner. He is the key obstacle to confronting Obama.... on anything.

We are overdue for a good thwart. Let the thwarting begin.

Yes, but that won't make it to SCOTUS until he's retired on an Oahu golf course. By then millions of illegals will have Obama green cards. And will the courts take them away from them? Not bloody well likely.

Well said. 0bama knows if he can get this going it’ll be impossible to stop and he’ll be gone in two years anyway.

His EO will be blatantly unconstitutional but he doesn’t give a whit.

The GOP congress will stop the Regime's lawlessness by passing legislation containing everything Obama wants regarding amnesty. Obama will not have to act.

It wouldn’t be a surprise at all if Boehner and McConnell do exactly that.

“Republicans better acquire some spine in a hurry and prevent the dictator-in-chief from pulling off this lawlessness.”
*****************************************************************************************************
In addition to needing some “spine”, they’ll also need some brains. Since both McConnell and Boehner are lacking in these areas I’d recommend they call in Ted Cruz for some consultation.

By the way, it would NOT surprise me if Boehner and McCarthy are meeting with the new (and VERY highly paid) despicable AMNESTY lobbyist Eric Cantor to figure out a way of empowering Obama’s unilateral AMNESTY while appearing to not support it. AMNESTY corruption makes strange bedfellows.

I hope my suspicions are not realized.

” Even if many people agree with the substance of his policy, which is hardly a foregone conclusion”

If Republicans would put Senator Sessions forward on a national platform and let him explain the consequences of Obama’s immigration policy, there would be a national outcry (for impeachment) against that policy. In other words, Sessions is doing the job McConnell and Boehner don’t won’t to do.

“GOP Aims to Thwart Obama’s Lawless Immigration Plans”..

“Aiming” and actually pulling the trigger are two different things. I will believe it when I see it. Right now, their new leadership has yet to take command and when they do, it will be a bit too late as millions more will have crossed the border since there is no one there to stop them.

Agree with you both, get Senators Sessions and Cruz working on this and they’d get the job done.

The GOP is blowing smoke. Here’s what they’re really doing. Their government-connected business constituents have long wanted them to make immigration much harder and more expensive for families, for example, immigrants married to Americans, their kids and the like. They want to make immigration free and easy for rich foreigners bribing their way in with big bucks and for hordes of pre-hired, impoverished, third world slaves schooled in technologies.

That’s already the pattern, and people should have awakened to it by now.

Capitol switchboard...1-866-220-0044.
Call or write your legislator ASAP.

MESSAGE: tell Congress that your midterm vote was specific---a demand that they fight tooth and nail---using both tooth and nail----to demolish the Obama/Reid amnesty plan to force American taxpayers to subsidize the expansion of the Democrat party w/ foreign voters.

AMERICANS HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT: Americans demand the Republican leadership tell Obama: "If the president unilaterally moves to augment the power of the Executive Branch in an unprecedented and unconstitutional manner via E/O'ing amnesty, then the Legislative Branch will need to increase its powers in order to maintain the balance of powers called for in the US Constitution.

The Senate can do this in an unprecedented but completely constitutional manner, by providing that the filibuster rule is suspended completely until such time as the president withdraws his executive aggrandizement.

RATIONALE--Obama's temporary amnesty E/O requires temporary suspension of the rule. That should also include Congress passing laws without the president signing the bill.

If it is okay for the president to overreach, then it is okay for Congress to overreach. Obama forgets that the Congress---and Americans---can also say, “We have been patient.”

================================================

THIS NEEDS TO GO VIRAL----STOP OBAMA IN HIS TRACKS :

(1) Fund every penny that is budgeted now.....except defund all DHS, ICE, HHS and USCIS' rubber-stamp activities. Defund anything and everything that directly and indirectly deals with amnesty: work permits, green cards for illegals, gravy train subsidies, re-situating unaccompanied minors w/ families. Then let Obama defend his amnesty E/O or take the blame for the entire shutdown himself.

(2) As a further warning----no votes on ANY Obama nominees until Jan 20, 2017. No judges, No Attorney General, no sub-cabinet secretaries. NOTHING----thanks to the SCOTUS ruling, Obama could not recess-appoint ANYONE, if the House declares the Congress is always in session.

================================================

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), has set up an active war room dedicated to undermining Obama's plans on immigration, and is next in line to chair the Budget Committee. From that perch, he would have the power to set spending parameters that undermine the president's moves.
