McConnell Should Announce Suspension of Filibuster Rule if Obama uses Executive Action on Amnesty
Vanity | 13 Nov 2014

Posted on 11/13/2014 6:15:39 AM PST by 11th_VA

If Senator McConnell really wants to play hardball with Obama, he should announce he will 'temporarily' suspend the Filibuster Rule in the Senate if Obama goes ahead with Executive Amnesty.

1) This will drive a wedge between Reid and Obama, since Reid's power will be directly tied to Obama's action

2) This will enable the Legislative branch to more readily balance it's powers with those of the Executive Branch

3) Much better than some Impeachment action, since it will actually give the Senate more power over the Executive Branch.

Desperate times call for desperate measures ...

Unfortunately, because this is a lame duck session, the union crook, 0bama commie enabler, Harry Reid is still in charge until January. So even if you drag McConnell out of the nearest bar, he can only do what he does best - NOTHING.

He can still announce what he'll do in January; he needs to flex some muscle in the mean time ...

Any Treaty or anything else Obama signs, I believe congress has 30 days to override it......with Reid, that will not happen........that is why Obama is doing the amnesty thing ASAP, so when the new Congress steps in, it will be passed the 30 day mark.

“McConnell Should Announce Suspension of Filibuster Rule”

That would possibly demonstrate leadership....not his style.

The GOP has every right to use the nuclear option that Reid used as majority leader. What is good for the Goose is Good for the Gander.

The GOP needs to move on the 300 plus pieces of legislation they passed that Hitler Reid didn’t allow for a vote.

Time the Democrats learn about democracy. Its their turn to squeal about the nuclear option they put into action in the Senate

Reid & Co will reinstitute the old filibuster rule as they end the current session. They would NOT leave that weapon in place, as is, for the Republicans.

They are betting McConnell does not have the cajones to re-apply the Reid version of the rule. McConnell has already said as much.

Hey, why stop there? If Obama can violate the constitution with impunity. McConnell and Boehner should announce that legislation passed by congress no longer needs presidential approval to become law...

Senate announces it will suspend filibuster rule.

House announces it will not appropriate funds to liberal sacred cow projects, starting with Obummercare.

I'm confused, isn't Reid's nuclear option, no filibustering, in place now?
