While President Obama frees vicious jihadists and killers from GITMO and refuses to go after the murderers in Benghazi, many brave US troops still rot in US prisons for their actions in defense of this country in Afghanistan or Iraq. This grave injustice cannot stand. Its enough. Let our sons, our brothers, our fathers, our husbands go.
My dear friend and fellow warrior Beverly Perlson sent the following letter to Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel on Monday and said: To all of you who love and support our brave men and women of the military, please forward this email along to your lists and please write Secretary Hagel. Please write and call your Congressmen and Senators. The time has come for this administration to show our Sons as much compassion as they are showing the terrorists in Gitmo! Thank You all and please, hug and thank our military Warriors every chance you get. They think of all of you so much that they risk their lives every single day to keep you safe. May God Bless & Watch Over Our Military!

Defense Chief Hagel: Free Sgt. Derrick Miller
http://www.marinkapeschmann.com/defense-chief-chuck-hagel-free-sgt-derrick-miller/
Messages have been sent out regarding the egregious life sentence Sgt. Derrick Miller is serving for his defensive actions on the battlefield in Afghanistan. His mother bakes cupcakes to raise money to visit Derrick. She has saved $800 toward the trip her and Derricks stepdad hope to make for the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Hotel and airfare is expensive. She is short $900. Sgt. Derrick Miller will sit in Leavenworth for another holiday and it sure would be nice if we could help his family spend the holiday with him. Thank you for any help you can send him. Please folks, if you can help them with any amount at all it is greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps, if many of us can chip in..

Sgt. Miller served 3 deployments and the Soldiers who served with him describe him of excellent military character. He is serving his third year in Leavenworth. Any help at all is greatly appreciated and please forward this email to all your lists. Thank you!
Donated. I wish them all a Happy Thanksgiving. BTT
I am sure Derrick’s parents will be able to be with him on Thanksgiving as we Freepers do care about our heroes and those who are able to help will do so.
Pinging here, and hope all will let me know through Freep Mail if they wish to be removed from my ping lists.
Replied on FL site before I read this...
Said: Sending 10$ and wish I had more to spare.
Thanksgiving card being planned.
Thanks for posting.
IF not; then the next one!
Donated. Thank you for the ping.
God bless.

Sorry but no chance of that.
We’ve probably seen our last veteran president, from either party.
FROM MY FRIEND BEVERLY PERLSON:
When I talked with Sgt. Miller’s mother last night at 8:30, she was $30 away from our goal to raise $900! By the end of the night she received $900 in donations! Derrick’s mom and stepdad will be spending Thanksgiving holiday with their son at Ft Leavenworth! God Bless Each and Everyone of You! Thank you! Beverly
Derrick’s mom posted this on Facebook last night:
My husband Craig and I have been working very hard over the summer months to raise the funds we need to visit Derrick over the Thanksgiving weekend. You see, the United American Patriots have a travel stipend that they provide to each family that they help, and we try to leave as much of those funds as possible available for Derrick’s children to visit him when his ex-wife can take them. We were very excited to be very near our fundraising goal when, as life often does, we were dealt some untimely financial setbacks in the form of major repairs to our vehicle, and a furnace replacement for our home. With a heavy heart, we used our hard earned travel savings to pay for the urgent and immediate needs, and prayed to God for a way for us to visit Derrick so that he would not have to spend his Thanksgiving alone...
He answered that prayer in the form of YOU! Thanks to an email appeal by our friend Beverly Perlson of Band of Mothers, a compassionate response from my church family (love you Kim!), and the wonderful support of folks right here on Derrick’s page (thanks Brent!), in less than 24 hours so many generous people responded to the call that we now have the funds we need to book our trip! Please excuse me if this message gets a little wonky, as I am once again typing with tears in my eyes, feebly trying to tell you how much this act of kindness means to us. We will be reserving our trip today, and when I spoke to Derrick last night and told him what’s happened, he laughed with joy to know that we are coming after all. This outpouring of generosity means the world to us, and when we wrap our arms around our son and thank God for the chance to see him this Thanksgiving, we will add a special prayer of thanks for the incredible, unwavering and steadfast support of folks like YOU! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
BTT. I’m sending my Congressman a polite note over the thing. Derrick isn’t his constituent, but I am.
Thank you for the update. How wonderful that they will be able to go.
Hoping he’ll be home for good soon, but, in the meantime, I feel blessed to be able to contribute.
Sounds like a wonderful lady, and her words brought tears to my eyes.
And now Obama and Durbin are wanting to transfer terrorists from GITMO to Thompson Prison in Illinois!!
Pinging more Freepers here. Please FreepMail if you wish off my ping lists. Thanks!
Bump!
