The trench lighter shown in the picture has been around a long time. I once got one in the Azores that was made by a local there. It was made from copper and some machined brass and flint striker. Don’t know what happened to it but had it for years.
The idea of a ‘boffin’ test, for all that veteran-related information is fine for those that need to know what the word ‘veteran’ really means.
Me?
My ‘test’ as a veteran, is:
1. seeing the morning sun rise.
2. holding myself together, as I see the hordes sell off their Freedom, that I fought for them to keep, not squander.
3. living with ailments, syndromes, and conditions peculiar to only veterans.
4. looking at a mealy mouthed, queer, anti-American piece of flesh posing, and an imposter acting as President of the greatest nation in the world, who is still breathing my air.
Here’s my family veteran list:
Great-great grandfather - Served Alabama in the Civil War
Grand-father - WWI
Two uncles - WWII
My father - Korea and Vietnam
One brother - US Navy
Two brothers - US Army
One sister - USAF
Me - USMC, US Army
Daughter - US Army
Daughter - currently Army ROTC at UCCS
Add to this numerous cousins and I’d have to say I’ve got military in my blood.
