So the number "13" apparently is bad luck for Obamacare, too.
Federal officials on Monday sought to lower expectations for upcoming enrollment in Obamacare, announcing that they now believe that only between 9 million and 9.9 million people will be enrolled in Affordable Care Act health insurance plans by the end of 2015.
That is well below the 13 million people that the Congressional Budget Office has projected for Obamacare enrollment by the end of 2015. Open enrollment for 2015 plans resumes Saturday.
The new projection, more than 30 percent reduced from the CBO estimate, comes from the Health and Human Services Department, which oversees the Obamacare health reform program.

It would be fun to know how many people who purchased Obamacare but haven’t stayed current with their payments.
Another government sponsored disaster that will cost countless people their lives.
“lower expectations” is probably the right bumper sticker for the whole Grand Kenyan shtick. My own expectations couldn’t be any lower for anything doofus boy has anything to do with. But you notice they had no idea this would be the case until the election was over? It is just disgusting that gummint agencies are so hide bound and secretive——the American people just can’t be trusted with accurate info when it might be helpful?
Last I heard, “attrition” was running about 30%.
Why would you make the payments? You can just buy it whenever you feel sick and they are not allowed to exclude you for “pre-existing conditions”.
Since I have seen first-hand that these exchanges don't work, and will not work for 2015... Another million uninsured.
For really good information on the truth about Obamacare, I highly recommend this blog (and I have no affiliation to it other than reading it to find the ‘truth’ that the media/HHS wiil not tell us):

..or who had insurance but signed up for CommieCare?
I doubt if NEW insureds reached 1 million.
repeal the individual mandate. repeal the employer mandate. repeal ipab. repeal minimum coverage requirments. what you’ve got left is a website where you can buy insurance from insurance companies.
I don’t have too huge a problem with that. I would never use it, mind you, but the web site would fizzle out on it’s own after we killed the rest.
Wait a minute. Weren’t there 40 or 50 million uninsured occupants in the USA in 2010 that we had to completely insure?
And 7 of the 9 million will be those getting free Medicaid!
A couple of things .... I believe you can only buy it during open enrollment or when you have a qualifying event ... getting sick with no insurance is not one of them.
The BIG thing I see .... (for example) a relative (28, in good health, not eligible for subsidies) is finding that insurance will cost her between $500-600/month. Using the lower figure, that is $6,000 per year for an insurance card BECAUSE she has a deductible she has to meet of about the same ($5-6,000). She is struggling to make ends meet (building a business), doesn’t have cable or other niceties, living as cheap as she can. The insurance premiums just kill her ability to pay rent, buy food, gas, etc. The $6,000 premium cost would buy her a LOT of medical care if she needed it (excluding catastrophic). Even if she had an insurance card, she cannot pay the additional thousands of her deductible before the insurance pays a dime. THIS is why people are not enrolling or dropping after a couple of months paying outrageous premiums and getting nothing for it. Doctors do not want to take Obamacare because THEY are on the hook for the $5-6K that the patient is responsible for (and most cannot pay) prior to insurance paying.
Another example - my brother, a small business owner with 2 kids still on his insurance, will have to pay almost 50% of his gross income to have insurance. It’s ridiculous.
I have recommended that they check out the following: http://selfpaypatient.com/selfpayhealthcaremarket/
In particular, look down the page to the Health Care Sharing Organizations .... sharing organizations are voluntary associations of people who agree to share medical bills between them, similar to insurance. They are typically less expensive than conventional health insurance, and for some ministries members are exempt from paying the Obamacare tax for being uninsured.
“Another government sponsored disaster that will cost countless people their lives.”
And a bottomless money pit, sucking dollars from the economy and our pockets. (Well, that’s pretty much the same thing!)
Does anyone definitively know what would happen to me if I flat out REFUSED to be insured, either via my employer or signing up for Bammy Care?
What’s the over/under for them to FIND me, if I did so? Is it tied into the IRS, via my tax returns?
How about if I just stop filing them, as well? *SNORT*
Bump for link, later. Thanks!
They probably thought there’s wasn’t anything to pay for.
LOL, they were going to sign up the 45 million people who were uninsured. Remember? That was the whole reason for this bunk
So for less than 1/4th of the projected people actually signing up, the whole health care insurance system has been shaken to it’s foundation.
Thank God for Liberals! /s /s /s /s /s
You’d have to pay a fine to the IRS but for many people that’s far less steep than Obamacare premiums - which aren’t affordable.
I’m covered by my state Medicaid plan so I don’t have to worry about having to choose between my health, rent and the dog food.
Obamacare has aggravated rather than solved the uninsured crisis.
