At 90 and counting, a feminine conservative icon is sharper than feminists who are half her age, particularly the ones who teach in college. What they do is make women believe they are victims of the patriarch, and they are trying to abolish the patriarchy, Schlafly told Anne Reed of the AFA Journal. That is ridiculous.
As it happens, seven years ago, this writer covered an English professor from Brigham Young University, Valerie Hegstrom, who told an appreciative crowd of her peers from across the country: When people ask me how I can stand it, I say that I believe in striking out in the heart of the patriarchy.
But lets leave the ridiculous and go back to the sublime. Schafly told Reed that women in America can do whatever they want in this country. Nevertheless, They are also taught that women shouldnt be responsible for taking care of their own children, that it is a demeaning occupation and isnt worth the time of an educated woman. Indeed, the president of the United States echoed similar sentiments recently.
Sometimes, someone, usually mom, leaves the workplace to stay home with the kids, which then leaves her earning a lower wage for the rest of her life as a result, he said on Halloween. And thats not a choice we want Americans to make.
The results of a 2012 survey of modern American mothers by ForbesWoman and TheBump.com are surprisingly inconsistent with the prevailing feminist view, Reed writes. Eighty-four percent of working women said they consider staying home to raise children a financial luxury to which they aspire.
Additionally, more than one in three women actually resent their partners for not earning enough to make their dream a reality.
Schlafly also asserted that The breakup of the family has resulted in the current welfare state. If a woman has children without a husband to support her, where does she go? To big brother government.
As it happens, those who actually administer welfare and arent blinded by the process of it come to conclusions remarkably similar to Schlaflys. When I think of the war on women, this is the real war on womenbirths to single mothers, Maura Corrigan, director o fthe Michigan Department of Human Services, said last month at the regional meeting of the Philadelphia Society in Grand Rapids.
Where did we go wrong? she rhetorically asked a crowd of a couple of more than a hundred conservatives. We went wrong when we made the government the husband, Corrigan said.
She predicted homosexual marriage way back at the time the Civil Rights legislation passed, and was laughed at and mocked for her prediction.
Elizabeth Anscombe did, too.
“...To big brother government.
I believe the term is, “sugar daddy”.
I’d put her career average above all of those on the Left.
I would still like to know the truth in the matter of her Georgia leader that was killed 4 years ago now. Nancy Schaefer I think. Totally suspicious death/suicide or so called, just before she was going to announce an explosive story about the GA DCF.
Anyone hear know what I’m talking about?

We women sure have been sold a bill of goods! The best time of my LIFE was when I was a SAHM to my three monsters. Fathers have been replaced by Government, and that is so very, VERY sad.
I remember when the government was getting into the free condoms in high school business, arguing it was not an endorsment of promiscuity, but rather just promoting safety to those who choose that lifestyle. Phyllis Schlafly argued on TV, “What are they going to say next, we should provide free clean needles to drug addicts, just so they are safe?”, to which she was also laughed to scorn by the other talking heads.
yes it is and SAHM have to be more quick witted than so-called “career girls”
A True American Feminist
Awesome lady. Once I wrote her back in the age of typewriters. She replied with a hand written comment!
Phyllis Schlafly _______________
She is steadfast. She has never wavered from her sound conservative views and principles/ She has not changed as long as I have been aware of her. No on gay marriage and more while other conservatives have caved! Abjectly!
Plus by reaching the age 90 she is most likely disciplined as far as taking care of her health. Thus she wants a disciplined, moral America and practices what she preaches.
modern prophetess
So, then it would be a normal, logical line of Liberal thinking that the government should pass out free pistols to children too, you know, to promote gun safety.
She’s been subjected to liberal Alinsky-type smears that make my head want to explode. The most disgusting lie I hear repeated about her is that she have no problem with men beating their wives.
Liberals can be the most disgusting creatures on earth.
that is typical. She is always gracious.
Together with shooting lessons. Yee haw.
She’s remained solid, consistent and steadfast. Over the last six years I’ve given up on almost all so-called ‘conservative’ writers and talking-heads (due to wobbliness on everything from amnesty to the tea-party to Palin to the homo agenda to establishment cronyism, etc.). Stopped reading just about everybody that I once followed.
But not Schlafly. She’s the epitome of conservative thought as it always used to be defined. I think the world of her.
Christianity pegs that as wickedness. And they know it.
