Newsday ^ | November 7, 2014

Venezuela is hosting a meeting that's meant to be a unique chance for environmental activists from around the world to talk.

But the conference has been marred by logistical mishaps. And some groups say they're concerned the host government is using the meeting as a platform for anti-capitalist decrees.

A last-minute change in venue forced participants to scramble. That led several would-be participants to drop out, including White House climate envoy Todd Stern.

The objective of AGW is death. Specifically, population reduction by any means necessary.

I suggest that they immediately stop exporting petroleum to those environment-wrecking capitalists.

The world should just stop buying Vz oil. Blockade their unbusy ports.

The melt-down in 2008 is something we'll be dealing with for decades.

We should have fended that off, and having not done so Capitalism will have a black eye for a long long long time.

It's a shame.  This didn't have to happen.  The Dems engineered it, but the Republicans didn't scream bloody murder about it.

Just by informing the public about what the Left was doing, the Right could have changed the whole dynamic.

Even if the melt-down did still take place, the Republicans could have been on record as predicting it and explaining why.

No such luck.

We had nimrods in charge of our party and it cost us dearly.

Let me guess: the participants flew there. They didn’t arrive by donkey or wooden ship.

It was the same in the meltdown of ‘31 - ‘32. For a generation, capitalism was blamed and men like FDR, Rex Tugwell, Henry Wallace, Harry Hopkins, and Harold Ickes stood at the “commanding heights” of US industry. Until struck down by the SCOTUS, there was a strict system of wage and price controls backed by the threat of incarceration.

Our flirtation with authoritarian socialism has been much tamer than it was in the 1930s and 40s.

That might explain why Venezuela has toilet paper shortages amongst other chronic shortages. Than dang ol’ capitalism!

It’s too bad the Obama Admin representative didn’t attend. He could have been an example for world leaders by sliding into Caracas on a rainbow.

You’re probably right. This will be our burden now none the less.

There will always be have-nots wanting to blame someone or something else and the Leftists needing desperately to exploit them.

Venezuela ?!?!

What MORE proof does anyone need that AGW is a Socialist invention instead of Science.

It's very sad that non-Science guys like Bill Nye and Algore promote this disgusting form of Communism under the guise of “helping the planet”

I agree.

Nothing that was made using fossil fuels or transported by a conveyance that uses fossil fuels.

No money from any Capitalist countries that use fossil fuels to earn the money should go there.

Then everyone can be happy and the greenies can be even more green. Ship all the Amerikan greenies to those communist countries so that they can enjoy a Worker's Paradise unshackled by progress or freedom

Their view is so spot on that they are having food shortages, water shortages and even toilet paper shortages!

What a brave new world for Venezuela!
