MSNBC's Welker to GOP: Pass Immigration Bill So Obama Doesn't 'Have' To Issue Exec Order
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

On MSNBC's Daily Rundown today, Kristen Welker repeatedly blocked GOP Senator Ron Johnson's attempts to talk about President Obama's threat to issue an executive order granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

When she finally deigned to discuss the issue, Welker suggested that Republicans pass immigration legislation so that Obama doesn't "have" to issue an executive order. The Republican devil made him do it!

I thought there was an immigration bill passed back in 1986? What happened to it, was it repealed? /sarc

If this election proved anything it's that the “might” of the “oh so precious” Latino vote is highly overrated (in fact 37% of Latinos voted Republican knowing they oppose executive amnesty). The polls also showed 75% of voters opposed executive amnesty. So if Obama does his executive action, the Republican nominee for 2016 should run on reversing the executive amnesty order on day 1, they would immediately lock up about 60% of the white vote)

The empty suit Obama and the depleted ‘RATS are BLUFFING on their doing an illegal/unconstitutional “executive amnesty”. Don’t fall for their bluffs.

Give them NOTHING related to a “path for citizenship” for illegals or any “OK” for temporary non-deportation of illegals. Let THEM attempt to do such things. Their actions will be reversible, will result in even more damage to the ‘RATS in future elections and will further weaken Obama and the ‘RATS in the era of the 2015/2016 Congress.

LET THEM SHOOT THEMSELVES; LET’S NOT JOIN THEM BY WOUNDING REPUBLICANS.

Phew.... I read the headline too quickly as "Walker", perplexed how Scott would ever say such a thing!

Don't know Welker... hardly even know what a TV is, let alone a MSNLSD. Don't care to know either.

When do you suppose MSNBC will start to hire people who can conduct a rational, intelligent interview? ...instead of childish, predictable (and boring) blather?

Do people block others from speaking because they are intellectually bankrupt?

“When do you suppose MSNBC will start to hire people who can conduct a rational, intelligent interview?”

I think they only hire people who majored in Black Studies at North Carolina.

Why are so many in media prostitutes for the democrats? Using their positions in mass media to shape public opinion? I thought journalists were supposed to report news, not make it, and especially not to the order of their leftist masters in government. This activity should be exposed and brought to light for all to see, not just the few who happen to view such channels more than the odd occasion that most people do.

A Romney supporter right here on FR said the same thing. That Romney’s advise about quickly passing amnesty should be heeded, as the only way to prevent Obama from doing it first. I could look up the screenname, but why bother. Some people just don’t think clearly as a general rule.

Good point. Add to that the black vote, some of who see amnesty as a slight to their position.

It is beginning to appear Obama is intent on not just destroying our economy, our military, our relations with our allies etc but is throwing the Democrats into the mix and destroying them too

Of course neither Romney nor the poster actually called it ‘amnesty’. They’ve learned that is not a popular concept. Now they call it ‘constructive immigration reform’.

Well, the president may well take action before the new congress takes office on January 3rd. In which case, there would be no choice to be made.

No disrespect mean to Sen Johnson, whom I admire, but I don't think that Republicans should bother to go on MSNBC anymore. Why should they?

Nobody watches it. Their ratings are in the toilet, and the hosts, and the viewers, all have closed minds. You can't argue with a brick.

Nothing good can come of it, you won't make any converts..and the worst that can happen is an inadvertent slip of the tongue or badly chosen phrase...that gets blown up all out of proportion. They are all insane...we shouldn't waste our time with them anymore.

And Mark, please be assured I'm not trying to put you out of a job..actually, I'm trying to save your soul, and your sanity...years of watching MSNBC incessantly has to be hazardous to your health..
