Maria Praeli stood crying at the podium as she held the hand of her mother, Chela Praeli.
Maria Praeli, 21, has a special status bestowed by President Barack Obama on young adults brought here as children by their undocumented parents that allows her to go to school and work without fear of deportation.
But Chela Praeli, a psychiatrist when she was living in Peru, but who now cleans houses for a living, lacks that protection.
“The thought of her being taken away from me is unbearable. My mother deserves to be included in President (Barack) Obama’s administrative relief,” she told a rally Thursday.
The Dreamers — called after the DREAM Act — total some 1.4 million residents under the age of 31 who have been here for at least five contiguous years and entered the country without the proper documentation before they were age 16.

NOBODY should be given status simply because this pResident panders to special interest groups to get their illegal votes. These people, who aren’t even from here and have no respect for our laws, now believe they are ENTITLED to live here and benefit from the largesse of this corrupt Government. We have LAWS. Yes, she was a child born here or brought here - it was not her decision - but until this crap is driven in the ground and a clear message sent - the sovereignty of the US will continue to be stepped upon by illegals, terrorists, gangs, etc...
In the meantime, those very people that think its okay - allow crime to rise - unemployment among LEGAL citizens to rise - and standards across the nation to fall.
Instead of trying to create a illegal voter base - how about we stick with the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights for a change - might be boring - but that’s what we have must protect!

New Haven has designated itself as a sanctuary city. Illegals shouldn’t have a problem.
You are a psychiatrist in Peru and you clean houses here? You can’t figure out how to be here legally? You don’t want to do it? You don’t think you should have to?
You are the last person we want as an American citizen. We want people that respect and celebrate our laws and work within it’s rules to obtain citizenry. It may be an arduous task, and it should be, but it’s worth it.
Both should be sent back. It’s the law. Hmm, that was easy.

After Tuesday’s elections she may want to ponder her future in America, not her mama’s. Remember Obama said she could keep her doctor, too, and I’m sure she believed him. After he retires, she may be first in the deportation line right after her mother. Maybe, together they can find a new home in Kenya with their beloved el pResidente.
Then they can apply for immigration status to the US like any other citizens of another country.
Don’t get your hopes up; there is no indication that either party will rectify this problem. Whereas before we needed immigrants as workers (and brought them in legally), now we just need them to keep housing, schools, and stores occupied. Nobody is sending them back; the best I would expect would be at least to force them onto the tax roles.
“Sanctuary cities” are places that are simply de-populating faster than the rest of the country (we aren’t replacing ourselves); without these illegals a lot of areas would be ghost towns as younger Americans flee the high costs of socialism (and resultant dearth of opportunites) and are increasingly followed by their aging parents.
