(Tim) Scott On ‘F’ Grade From NAACP: ‘It’s Because I Believe That Progress Has To Be Made’

The first African-American senator to be elected from the South since reconstruction made dual history Tuesday as Tim Scott (R-S.C.) won the seat to which he was appointed after Jim DeMint’s retirement.

Scott is also the first black senator to be elected in both the House and the Senate.

“South Carolina voters vote their values and their issues and not my complexion. This is a great sign for what’s happening throughout the south. But certainly, a fantastic sign for the evolution that has occurred in South Carolina,” Scott told MSNBC this morning.

His win versus Democrat Joyce Dickerson was overwhelming: 61 percent to 37 percent.

Scott, who has long promoted his “opportunity agenda,” said one of his focuses now will be school choice.

“I’m very interested in creating a foundation of education for those folks in the middle-income arena as well as kids living in poverty, kids like myself who perhaps live in the wrong zip code going to underperforming schools,” he said. “I’d love to give parents the tool of choice. When parents have choice in education, I think their kids have a better chance of success. Had it not been for education, I would not be sitting here today. I think of education as the gateway to the American dream. I want to open that gate wider for kids living in poverty, wider for folks in middle income American who are sandwiched. Think about it, the folks who are taking care of their parents and their kids, they need access to a better education system that sometimes they cannot afford. Why not give more parents choice?”

“That would lead to revolution,” Scott added.

I wonder how many more years before the black community realizes that the black DemocRats in Congress has been selling them out to labor unions and liberal interests.

(Condi) Rice: Democrat Racial Attacks 'Appalling'

"Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Thursday slammed Democrats who sought to use race against Republicans in the midterm elections, saying they were offensive and out of touch.

“The idea that you would play such a card and try fearmongering among minorities just because you disagree with Republicans, that they are somehow all racists, I find it appalling. I find it insulting,” she said on Fox News."

"Rice and the show’s co-host, Brian Kilmeade, specifically mentioned the Georgia Democratic Party’s flyers that asked voters to prevent another shooting similar to that in Ferguson, Mo."

“We are not race blind. Of course we still have racial tensions in this country. But the United States of America has made enormous progress in race relations and it is still the best place on Earth to be a minority,” Rice said.

Clearly the “F” is due to his skin color. Now if he were half-white...

It’s all part of the NAACP’s .....

“War on blacks being successful.”

“War on blacks not thinking as they’re told to think.”

“War on blacks achieving.”

“War on a United States of America.”

If I were the Senator, I’d consider the failing grade from those racists to be an honor.

The NAACP has been a catastrophe for Black Americans. Some of them have to be realizing this as they look around their own families and communities.

Listening to the GOP and conservatives can't hurt. Maybe they have some good ideas.

Any High-profile escaped slave from the Democrat Plantation is a threat to the Overseers, and the Democrat Party elites.

Look for attacks on his reputation to begin IMMEDIATELY. The politics of personal destruction are alive and well.

The Daily Show, and Saturday Night Live are the most effective platforms for this stuff.

It was my understanding that Sen. Landrieu (D) thought differently. Hmmmm — think she was mistaken??

The NAACP folks just want to keep their jobs.

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” - Booker T. Washington

Um, never. A welfare check speaks louder than logic and observation. Always has. Blacks have had 100 years to discover they live on the Democrap Plantation but they love it there. Free sh*t.

The “F” is for Fleeing the Democrat plantation.

Mr. Scott got all uppity on them. Can’t have that.

And Sen. Scott received something like 83,000 more votes in South Carolina than Linda did. Glad to see Sen. Scott representing us. Fail on, Sen. Scott, you must be doing something right.

We’re all in for an interesting decade — two years of Lame Duck Zero, and eight years of Republican presidents.

At least.

Scott won’t be kept on any plantation. A free man with the freedom to be who he wants to be regardless of where he is from. I applaud him and those like him.

They’ll turn the corner one of these days. Just gotta keep plugging away at this stuff. Supporting the right people, putting the right message out there, making incremental progress, and not giving in to the notion that it’s hopeless.
