For a party whose viability is based on a biracial coalition, that’s a serious chasm — not just for 2016, but 2018 as well.

Guilt over white privilege?
Why, indeed? It would be like a dog voting for hookworms.
No word on the Hispanic vote....not that I’ve seen.
No white privilege in my family - my parents never knew of indoor plumbing til WWII. Fortunately I had a loving mother who made me go to school each day and get the college education that she never had.
So, where's my white privilege, having a caring mom that made sure I came home each night and went to school?
50% of Hispanic vote is concentrated in two states - CA and TX. The rest are spread thin over the rest of the country.

If you're one of the few remaining very elderly, because FDR and Truman were Democrats.
If you're a Boomer, because JFK, RFK, McGovern, and Carter were/are Democrats.
If you're an Xer, because you were taught to be ashamed of your race and to subsume it to the Culture Of Diversity.
If you're a Millennial, because the most important issue of the era is gay marriage, and you want to feel like someone who is Changing The World.
Then there are the rest of us, who believed what King said about his dream of a nation where people would be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. We may not always feel at home when having to walk through the Huntsman-McCain-Romney wing of the GOP mansion to get to the Cruz-Lee-Palin wing, but we refuse to enter any part of the crack house that has become the Democratic Party.
Why should whites vote for an ideology that wants them exterminated? Guilt will only make a certain percentage willing to commit suicide. Yes, really. Read the screeds of the kooks who drive the movement.
And Landrieu faces this same issue in the Dec. 6 runoff.
(I think what I saw in October is that Landrieu at best was getting 25% of the White vote).

I read somewhere it went about 76% dem but it varied a lot from place to place. In CA it was about 90/10 for the dems and in Texas Abbott got about 45% if the hispanic vote to Davis's 55%.

A dozen or so years ago one of my kids had a white, divorced English teacher who was a nut over white privilege. First I’d heard of it. I had to get him transferred into another section. She was such a bossy PC twit.
Amazingly, the drumbeat of “you didn’t earn that” aimed at whites seemed to work for many years. It gave us two terms of the Half-rican. The use of the race card is not yet over.
My wife was amused/amazed when, during the election returns, I switched over to MSNBC for a few minutes to see how the other half lives, and there was Al Sharpton, speaking as an expert political analyst! White privilege, indeed.
Sanctuary cities and an open door policy for illegals is precisely the reason that extremely blue Illinois, Maryland and Massachusetts voted for Republican Governors.
