Meet The Real Next Senate Majority Leader: Ted Cruz
Talking Points Memo ^ | November 5, 2014 | Sahil Kapur

If you thought House Speaker John Boehner has had a miserable time trying to govern, wait until you see what incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is about to deal with.

The Kentucky Republican achieved his lifelong dream on Tuesday night in a massive victory for his party, and is positioned to move into Sen. Harry Reid's ornate suite in the Capitol when the next Congress convenes on Jan. 3.

But it is likely to be a short honeymoon.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, the influential tea party firebrand, is poised to make life very difficult for the old-school Kentuckian by harnessing the power of the GOP base's rightward drift to wage fierce battles with President Barack Obama.

Cruz telegraphed his strategy in a post-election interview Tuesday night on Fox News, calling on Republicans to do whatever it takes to repeal Obamacare and prevent Obama's upcoming executive actions on immigration.

"The two biggest issues nationwide were, number one, stopping the train wreck that is Obamacare; number two, stopping the president from illegally granting amnesty," Cruz said.

He also appeared on CNN and declined to voice support for McConnell as majority leader, calling that "a decision for the conference to answer next week."(continued)

And McConnell has already Stated last Night that NEITHER WILL HAPPEN on his watch. Hell Preibus is talking about how the GOP will work for “Amnesty”(immigration reform) today in another article

Go for it, Ted. We say NO to the Senate version of the House’s Boehner, Mitch McConnell. Both agents for the progressive left.

Wonder if Cruz could just do what McCain seems to do. Put together a rogue caucus and just be the defacto voice of the party.

Cruz is a force to be reckoned with and the GOP-e are scared to death of him.

The public agrees with Ted, but doesn't know it, because the media has portrayed him as a Tea Party "extremist." Cruz' effort will bring the intra-party conflict out into the open, with Cruz on the side of sanity.

This will boost his stock AND possibly turn the public against Obama and his government shutdown propaganda.

I disagree. He needs to be bold and that is what he is. As Rush so correctly stated today: If the voters wanted both parties to “work together” to “get things done”, they just would have elected more Democrats. Instead, the voters elected Republicans for one task - TO STOP OBAMA AND THE RADICAL LEFTIST AGENDA. If the establishment GOP thinks otherwise, they are very mistaken.

I disagree.

So do I! Rush was right and it is PAST time to get bold and in-your-face towards these Marxists/Communists. What did Obama say? 'if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun? MSM-crickets! Can you even begin to imagine the MSM reaction if Cruz said that? Bring a GUN?!? They HATE guns!

(unless they're the only ones with them)

All the Republicans bring to a fight between Republicans and Democrats is a fast set of feet so they can run like hell from the Democrats.

Best thing about threads like these: FR’s resident RINO brigade can show up and pretend to be conservatives again.
