One of the president's chief critics could soon lead the Senate's main military committee.

With Republicans gaining the majority in the upper chamber in Tuesday's midterm elections, Sen. John McCain is widely expected to become the next Armed Services Committee chairman in January.

McCain, the Republican Party's presidential nominee in 2008, has decades of experience in foreign policy and defense issues in the Senate, where he was first elected in 1986. He also served in the Navy, and he spent more than five years as a prisoner of war after his plane was shot down during the Vietnam War.

McCain on defense is a good thing - he’ll probably like the job and keep quiet on other issues.

I am not in favor of his military policies. He always wants the US military involved in every conflict. Can Rand Paul get this position instead?

Having McCain will be good for the troops as he should roll back the retirement benefit cut. He is also demanding on contractors. However, McCain wouldn’t know a Jihadist if one blew himself up in a car!

McCain created ISIS with Obola.

Too many women have been raped and enslaved by them.

Too much has been given to al Qaeda by them.

Enough already.

The odds on McCain retiring in two years just increased dramatically.

He'll likely have to be defeated at the ballot box.

And it is the reality.

We have 52 seats in the Senate and may get one more.

I have three words for folks who are blissful this AM.

McCain, Graham, and Snow...

There are others too, and we already know who likes to form gangs and pretend they are in charge.

Graham should be relegated to dusting the erasers, Snow relegated to taking out the thrash, and McCain’s first task can be to sit in the first can she dumps out back.

John McCain is awful on foreign policy. We’d be bombing Assad and helping al-Qaeda and ISIL if it was just up to him alone.

(*groan*) Oh, no...!

As some once said: “Stupid decisions are for a moment; stupidity is forever!”

Is there seriously *no* good work on which the GOPe will try to sit down and smash?

Two words for you...

Libya and Syria.

McCain is a loose cannon on the deck. He’s not fit to lead anything.

Which means he’ll form as many “gangs of whatever” every chance he gets, just to screw with us.

Just how good was he for our troops, when he sided with Vietnam against our men MIA, their families, and the Veterans groups who opposed MFN for that communist nation?
