Democrat Maura Healey has won the race for Massachusetts attorney general, topping Republican John Miller to become the nation's first openly gay candidate elected to the top law enforcement job.

The 43-year-old Healey spent seven years in the attorney general's office and was the former chief of the civil rights division. She said she had the experience to do the job and hit the ground running.

Miller had argued Healey would continue in the vein of Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley, with too strong a focus on prosecution and not enough on preventing fraud and abuse. Coakley opted to run for governor instead.

Miller had touted his more than three decades of experience, including in construction and government contracts law.

Whaddya expect?

Even their newly elected ostensible Republican governor is pro-gay-marriage, pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, anti-gun.

We didn’t do much better here in NH.

You mean, there was nobody you could vote for?

We got stuck with weakling Scott Brown at the top of the NH fed ticket. He dragged the rest of the party down, since he discouraged a lot of the base from even voting.

Losing gay candidates in MA:
Rich Tisei-R for 6th dist
Steve Kerrigan-D Coakley’s running mate. He was the one who made the announcement that Coakley would not be conceding last night, that’s it, go home everyone.

Losing gay candidate in ME:
Mike Michaud-D for governor

Former Prov RI mayor Don Cicciline did win
though (US house I think)

Actually MA is moving slightly Republican while NH is clearly moving Democrat. The GOP picked up seats in the state house and senate last night. Meanwhile the Democrats are now firmly entrenched in NH. Prepare for epic tax increases and new taxes of all kinds. Sooner or later you’ll lose the legislature too.

We’ll leave the lights on for you when you all move South to get away from it.

Disgusting worm.

But now you have a flaming moss muncher for AG. It will probably look for anti-gay discrimination in every nook and cranny of the state.

As a rule, NH DemonRATs are more conservative than MA Republicans.

If Gov. Hassan (Hussein!) tries to push for an income or sales tax, the conservative base will come out of the woodwork to recall her, or worse.

Nobody ever got elected governor in NH without taking the pledge against income and sales taxes.

Much of the conservative base stayed home this election, because the top of the ticket, Brown, was pro-abort, pro-gay-marriage, and squishy on gun rights.

The only thing he had going for him was anti-amnesty, which isn’t that big a deal in NH, for some reason.
