Democrat Brian Schatz easily won Hawaii's U.S. Senate race Tuesday, holding on to the seat he was appointed to after the 2012 death of longtime Sen. Daniel Inouye.

Schatz was widely favored to win in heavily Democratic Hawaii against Republican Cam Cavasso in a special election to finish the two remaining years of Inouye's term. Polls ahead of Election Day showed Schatz ahead by a wide margin.

Schatz was not immediately available for comment, and Cavasso declined to immediately comment, saying he was still optimistic.

. Brian Emanuel Schatz (pronounced /ʃɑːtz/; born October 20, 1972) is an American politician who is the senior United States Senator for Hawaii. Schatz was appointed by Governor Neil Abercrombie to replace the U.S. senator Daniel Inouye after his death in 2012.

Schatz served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006, where he represented the 25th Legislative District, and was chairman of the Democratic Party of Hawaii from 2008 to 2010. He also worked as chief executive officer of Helping Hands Hawaii, an Oahu nonprofit social service agency, until he resigned to run for Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii in the 2010 Hawaii gubernatorial election as the running mate of Neil Abercrombie.[1] He served as lieutenant governor until December 26, 2012, when Abercrombie appointed Schatz to serve out Daniel Inouye's U.S. Senate term until the 2014 special election.[2] Upon his swearing-in, Schatz was the youngest U.S. Senator in the 112th Congress; in the 113th Congress, he is the second-youngest, after Chris Murphy of Connecticut. Schatz is the Democratic party nominee in the Senate special election, scheduled for November 2014.

Pajama Boy is only 42!!! Watch him and his wife buy a house in the DC area and dig in for the long haul. Daniel Inouye was in DC for 40 years and this puke will be there 40 years too

Schitz is a classic island Democrat. He has no experience doing anything except carrying Democrat water buckets. He can be counted on to be a loyal Democrat. Hawaii continues to do the same thing come election because they don’t expect anything to change.

When you study the islands’ history, it is hard to believe anyone there would vote for a Democrat. They stole it from a Queen. They then destroyed its culture. A horrible story (likened to Detroit) yet they vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. I guess they deserve what they get.
