Obama being the obstructionist is of course another story.

The power of the purse is the congress' nuclear option.

They had better get their radiation suits STAT!

First - try winning the senate, because it is not done yet. The Dems are manufacturing votes as we speak. This is not over and they should not be counting chickens.

So Obama is going to allow the GOP to pass legislation concerning "Jobs, lower gas prices, energy independence" but not anything where Obamacare is concerned?

Does anyone else see the dishonesty [utter stupidity] in that statement?

There.
Fixed it.

Portman needs to retire and be replaced with a true conservative.

“Instead they voted 50 times to repeal Obamacare knowing that the bill would die in the Senate. Now if the GOP takes the Senate then the House will neither vote to repeal or defund because they know that they would have to come up with an alternative.”

They already have an alternative. It’s called the Free Market. Eliminate the laws that prevent crossing state lines to buy insurance. The Republicans won’t do that because like the Democrats, they all want goverment control. That is what makes them millionaire’s.

That’s OK. Back in the early 80s, they were teaching in civics classes that “republic” and “representative democracy” are the same thing. Yeah.

Obama and his flying monkeys, and most of the RINO party seems to have forgotten that last part...

"Republic..."

"...government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law."

“...his first action as a US Senator was to support gay marriage “out of love for his son”.

Yeh, and before that, he was against homo marriage. Rhetorically, was he elected at least partially on his anti-homo marriage stance? I think he was. RINO alert!

” This is the normal GOP-E sales talk to get those who have not paid attention to them, as much as we have, to vote for them.

Just another Lucy, Charley Brown, and the Football episode. “

Nuff said.

I thought that the whole keystone XL line was moot now? The last I heard, the canucks have basically told the US to FO, and are running a new pipeline out to the coast near Vancouver. They’re also looking to build a coal transship terminal to ship out coal from the powder river basin, because OR and WA refuse to allow any transship terminals to be built in their states. The Canadians DO have their own railroad to the west coast also.

They could put a lot of people on the record with real votes where funding is involved but that would require the squishes of the party to show their true colors, not happening...

“Point(ing) a gun” at the heads of voters is not the only dirty trick in the liberals’ book. You think the Democrats that ran out and voted for Cochran in a GOP primary were going to do it anyway without prodding from Cochran’s campaign?

Saying “flat-out lost” is handing it to the liberal GOP-e without a fight. It also looks like the “third” party is needed in spite of those that still say it is not.

that “republic” and “representative democracy” are the same thing

Generally that is still taught except perhaps where socialism is all that is considered any more.

Lots of socialist and communist states are fond of calling themselves “democratic republics”. The European Union even claims that the government in Brussels is “based on representative democracy”.
