For the Republican Party’s leadership, taking control of the U.S. Senate might not even be the sweetest part of a victory in 2014. With growing confidence as Election Day approaches, Republican leaders are preparing to argue that broad GOP gains in the House and Senate would represent a top-to-bottom validation of their party’s mainline wing. Having taken a newly heavy-handed approach to the primary season this year, the top strategists of the Republican coalition say capturing the majority would set a powerful precedent for similar actions in the future — not just in Senate and congressional races, but in the presidential primary season as well.
National Republicans managed this year to snuff out every bomb-throwing insurgent who tried to wrest a Senate nod away from one of their favored candidates. They spent millions against baggage-laden activists such as Matt Bevin, the Louisville investor who mounted a ham-fisted challenge to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, the conservative upstart who imperiled a safe seat by nearly ousting longtime Sen. Thad Cochran.

Considering that the GOPe primary victories this year can be attributed to RINOs moving right to innoculate against Tea Party insurgents, they’d have to be really freaking stupid (distinct possibility) to act like there’s a moderate/establishment mandate.

The Chamber of Commerce/Wall Street/big banks have spent tens of millions defeating tea party /conservative candidates all across the country. McConnell loaned HIMSELF 1.8 million to make sure he wins.
To add, this is Politico. I’m catching a whif of a last minute Conservative vote suppression effort here.
There’s a lot of over the top propaganda being spread on this site right now by GOPe operatives saying conservatives need to vote for any and all Republicans tomorrow.
I could care less who wins although I expect Republicans to win by default because Democrats are more demoralized than the GOP voters.
Obama has hurt many of his supporters big time with Obamacare, hit them in their pocketbooks.
30 hour work weeks are not a prescription for prosperity.
The GOPe and Obama will continue to cut deals to increase out national debt, spending and taxes like they already have been doing.
The GOPe goal is to be a better manager of big government, including Obamacare.
I will vote Republican for state senate tomorrow and write-in conservatives for other offices including Congress.....
I believe this explains the establishment GOP’s curious lack of interest in pursuing who directed the IRS suppression of Tea Party groups. They are on board with the end result.

Liberal journalists are such a sneaky dishonest little snakes. You never see Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity pretending to be some partial distributor of the news. They are always proud to declare their political slant. Liberal journalists always pretend to have no bias at all.
This midterm should be an UNCONTESTED BLOWOUT! Look at the map for crying out loud! Let the GOPe morons crow all they want they will get a rude awakening in 2016 when voters sit home for Jeb and they get massacred in the Senate. If this is the best they can do under these conditions, 2016 will be a bloodbath

The tea party gave them the house in 2010. The gop screwed them. Then they ran Romney PLUS said they would overturn obamacare. Once the election was over they said “Did it to you again, dummies.” I won’t be voting for any of them in the future.
Once more The Hand of Rove is managing to turn what should have been run away wins into late inning comebacks...
How did that work out for us????? After wiping out democRATS tomorrow, we go to the GOPe and tell them, "guys you might be thinking that you are in charge but you're NOT." "We've had your number for some time and now you will end your leadership positions, your 'team' with some true conservatives among you!. You can stay in DC that you love than your home state folks but not in leadership in positions to shut down conservatives in your party."
This is not a surprise. If they win, it will be because the Obamanoids are immensely unpopular among intelligent people, not because their candidates are all that popular. But of course that’s not a message they will admit to.
I’ve been pretty quiet this time around concerning the midterm elections, because I feel discouraged. Yes, by all means, Freepers should get out and vote; but more than ever it’s for the “lesser evil.” Who’s the big winner in the photos on Drudge as the election approaches? Mitch McConnell. Ugh.
I’m afraid that the Republican Party isn’t just dying any more. It’s dead. And unless we get strong, reliable, real conservative leadership, the Tea Party will go on drifting around instead of replacing it.
The only one in sight who can pull us out of this mess is Sarah Palin. Nobody else. Yes, I like Ted Cruz, but as a leader and example in congress, not in the White House.
None of that is pretty. So I just haven’t said very much about it. So far, although conservatives are numerous, they have allowed themselves to be outmaneuvered by the press and the political operatives of both parties.
And like I said. They will be roadkill on the 2016 map. Better not ask me for donations
