She must have got some withering feedback from the locals. Maybe she realized she would be isolated wherever she went as people all move to the other side of the street or out of the McDonalds when she enters.
From my perspective as a nurse, I am not satisfied with Hickox’s “apology.” She has shown a level of selfishness and non-beneficence that brings tremendous discredit to my profession. Nurses are the most trusted professionals in America. Because of her purely self-gratifying actions, her betrayal of nursing ethics, her desire for fame, her bad judgment, and her refusal to place the safety of others above her own “freedom,” Hickox should be stripped of her nurse’s license and banned from the profession.
Maybe she got a threat of a lawsuit for megabucks if she infects anyone and it caused her to rethink her position.
