2002, Minnesota CD-2 race. The Democrat incumbent Luther was being challenged by Republican John Kline. A third party candidate was running on a “No New Taxes” ticket. Turned out he was a Democrat operative and a Sierra Club activist. Kline still won.
The official Dem dropped out, so it is technically a 2-person race
