Thirty-four years ago, Ronald Reagan delivered an inaugural speech that sounds like it could have been prepared for 2014 instead of 1981. In this video, taken from Mark Levin's Oct 31, 2014, radio show, he leads off with excerpts from that speech (hat tip to Americans for Prosperity) and adds his commentary in advance of the 2014 elections.

I hope no one is insulted if I contribute two cents worth with what I think Abe would say about being on the other side today.
I am not on the other side. It is as if the slave masters occupy Washington but we the people are the government. Both parties deprecate war, but one of them would make war rather than let the Constitution survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it perish, and the war has come -- so far consisting of words only. The former is to reject inalienable rights and the latter is to live by inalienable rights.
To strengthen, perpetuate, and extend the former is the object for which the statists would rend the Republic even by actual war, while the Originalists claim no right to do more than to Constitutionally restrict the statists.
Also this can serve as a reminder about Mr. Levin's father's book and Lincoln's second inaugural address plus the Civil War.
The image is from Walmart. The book is also available everywhere books are sold.
Well, that brought a tear to my eyes.
Inspiring, particularly after spending the weekend with some of the brightest and informed people I know.
They chucked God, in their mind, yet he still lives in their hearts.
The kindest and most humble people, who give constantly of themselves and write checks.
I don’t have a construct that allows me to believe God doesn’t inspire them.
I do have one that says if there is no God, there is no universal moral code.
Since, what I know of them is universally accepted worldwide, how can it be that God doesn’t still work in their lives, yet they say “No Proof”.???
I posed the question that everything in the universe has a mathematical formula for it’s existence and relativity to each object, as well, livving beings.
We are now discovering those formulas.
Who made them then, for us to learn?
No way you can explain the whole thing was an accident.
We ended up on the most hospitable planet and thrived, along all with other life, by accident?
How can that be?
And yet, my friend says there is no proof of God.
Well, maybe there isn’t but, I know there is and I see his handiwork constantly and observe his spirit in my fellow man.
Heck, I think my dogs took Christ as their Savior. At least I hope they did and I will see all my pets when I get to heaven, wherever that is.
I’m but an hour from RR Ranch and Library.
Wish I could go today but, have to return home and get to work.
I’ll come back next year

I had the best day at RR but, broke down crying at his grave site.
Love that place and maybe one day I’ll build my own oval office.
Just for fun.
Same here. I cried for three weeks every day after he died. I remember all the people lined up on the the road to the library and Nancy Reagan was amazed that so many people were there as if she really didn't know how many people loved him.
God bless the United States of America and death to all her enemies.
