A Georgia police officer was jailed Thursday on a sexual assault charge that occurred in 2011 in Myrtle Beach, according to authorities.
It is the second arrest for Michael Luke Ledford, 46, of Columbus, Ga., according to news reports.
Ledford was booked Thursday into the Myrtle Beach Jail on a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records. He was being held Friday.
A Myrtle Beach police incident report, which did not list many details, said detectives received information from the victim that a sexual assault occurred sometime between March 25, 2011, and March 28, 2011, at a hotel in the city.
The report was filed on Oct. 17 and information about the victim including age was not listed. The report showed that detectives and outside agencies were investigating the incident.
According to a story published Oct. 17 by the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Ledford was charged there with two counts of child molestation. He was arrested and released from jail there on $10,000 bail.
No other details were available about that arrest and his status as a police officer was unclear Friday.

It has changed a bunch. It was my first assignment in '75 and when I got there, one could take a nap in the middle of main street w/o worrying about traffic during the Winter months. Shortly after, Disco hit the nation and Myrtle Beach started running full speed 24/7 12 months a year. Once that happened, others sat up and took serious interest and it headed down hill. I still remember sitting in a bar called Mother Fletchers and listening to a really good band - they called themselves "Alabama".
Indeed. Communism has a officer and foot soldier structure, while with capitalism one can be both and often is. Some succeed at time and fail at time. It is not about class. Class only exists in government.
