As divider-in-chief, Gov. Scott Walker is a roaring success (barf alert)
Milwaukee J-S ^ | 01 nov 2014 | John Gurda

In American politics, it pays to be a fighter. Candidates of every stripe and in every age have found it useful to pose as advocates for the common people, champions who will go to the barricades on our humble behalf. Genuine populists have worn the mantle most effectively.

"Fighting Bob" La Follette was an impassioned rabble-rouser through his long career in Wisconsin politics, and fiery Dan Hoan regularly "gave 'em hell" during his 24 years as Milwaukee's mayor. Both men, and many of their contemporaries, were on a never-ending crusade against the "special interests" who sought to rig the system in their favor.

Scott Walker has embraced the traditional warrior's role with undisguised zeal. One of his favorite poses is with sleeves rolled up and hands on hips, ready to step into the ring for "the hardworking people of Wisconsin." In the current gubernatorial race, his backers don't just support him; they stand with Scott Walker, presumably against the onslaught of godless liberalism. The whiff of combat is always in the air.

Funny they don’t mention that the more money we pile into the educational system the more it fails.

Their hatred for Scott Walker knows no bounds.
The guy has without doubt shown more courage than any politician on the scene besides Ted Cruz,Trey Gowdy also comes to mind, but Walker was a Champion all during the media, union, and Democrat onslaught. He deserves consideration for higher office.

While he is courteous and measured, he pisses off all the right people.

There's no doubt that the act has saved local governments money and given them more flexibility — that's what happens when you gut public unions — but was it worth the collateral damage, particularly when bargaining could have taken us a long way down the same road?

I wonder what type of drugs this person is on...they must be really good

There is not one iota of evidence the unions were willing to bargain away the issues Walker managed to change...

I cannot believe that rag is still wasting ink. Locally, Dane & Milwaukee counties lap this stuff up - the rest of the state laughs at it.

Scott Walker is our generation’s Reagan. Get him a solid victory on Tuesday, and then we can contemplate 2016.

Liberals are funny when they get hysterical and they can also become dangerous. The great thing about Scott Walker being governor of Wisconsin is that he brought to the forefront the true venom, hatred, and evil of liberals. It confirmed everything that I thought about lefties. They hate everyone, the country, and those who shut off their access to more government goodies. Thanks Governor Walker. Keep smashing away at the left. It’s so fun to watch them go haywire over you.

We’re working on it. Last poll had him with a 7 point lead...but we’re taking nothing for granted! :)

The fact that Obama and his supporters are very much more aggressive seems to have escaped their notice too.

The only difference is Obama and his policies are not merely miserable but disastrous failures that even liberals have a hard time of overlooking after 6 years.

I mean seriously you would think after 6 years on the job Obama would at least learn how to be an executive but it seems he really doesn’t even care to do his job.

Compare that to Scott Walker and your looking at two different directions in life.

Dey scared, Dey scared! The Dem-Union “legal” money-laundering machine is threatened. Been saying it for some time. No public employee unions. Cut off the cash flow and they will wither.

Just who started this fight, one may ask? It wasn’t a whiff of combat, it was the stench of every left wing operation both inside and outside the State. If this writer ever got a journalism award this should call for it to be returned.
