One day after governors in New York, New Jersey and Illinois imposed a mandatory 21-day quarantine on medical workers returning from Ebola-stricken countries in West Africa, public health officials in the District, Maryland and Virginia did not follow suit Saturday, intensifying a national debate over how to prevent the spread of the disease.
Health officials are working to develop a consistent approach for the area around the nations capital. Joxel Garcia, director of the D.C. Department of Health, said that a mandatory quarantine was not scientifically justified and could have a chilling effect on the medical personnel, many of them volunteers, needed to treat Ebola patients at home and overseas.

Note to self - if I get Ebola overseas, fly back to the US through Dulles.
Brought to America by pResident Obola.
Breathe deep, Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd - there is nothing to fear here!
Oh that’ll change in a nanosecond if one of our esteemed representatives contracts it. DC will be locked down tighter than a nuclear waste container.
When superstar, Rock Hudson, got AIDs, it suddenly became a big deal. Let’s just wait until some famous person gets it. I just hope it’s some creepy lib in Washington, DC.

yeah better that the threat of deadly Ebola have a long time chilling effect on the population of the US at large than the very thought of quarantine give one moments discomfit to the “medical personnel” demanding to return from Ebola hot spots so that they can go bowling, to a restaurant for soup, riding the subway, flying off for the weekend, and cruises ...
Government wiped out by own regulation at capitol./s

Obola and Zeke Emanuel would be good starts.
I will agree with you! Zeke needs to check out at 57 before 75, don’t you think?
I agree.
Good, let them flock to DC. With apologies to the DC Chapter.
What is the legal jurisdiction of Dulles and Reagan National? Could the Virginia governor say “#$(%#$)( that! We’re instituting quarantine here too.”
Don’t we all know we need to treat the Ebola-carriers with respect and kindness, but the h*** with the people who might get Ebola from these Ebola-carriers!!!!!
What did the WH say ? -
“Let them monitor themselves” -
Mr. usurper and gang - you are right, we will honor your wish and send them all to your house where they will enjoy your undying respect, and monitor themselves while your highness gives them hugs everyday to show us how safe you are in their presence and how fast they will recover getting more hugs and respect from you and your buddies.
Excellent news indeed! With the other official Ebola-ports-of-entry tightened down with mandatory quarantines, then all Ebola-infected folks will waltz right through Dulles right into D.C., making D.C. not only the capital of the U.S., but the Ebola capital of the U.S. as well!
Couldn’t happen to a nicer city! AND, the first time an Ebola case actually lands their and contaminates the crap out of everything, Congress will finally act to secure our nation from this potential nightmare!
Another plus for NY and NJ is that people flying back from ebola countries won’t want to book into those states -
Looks like DC will get the overflow.
sounds right - should be shuttled right over to the white hut
Would that be so bad? After all, look at how much money we waste on some of the useless agencies in the executive branch. Ebola may be the only way to shrink the government. It would be ironic if the shrinking came on the anniversary of Reagan’s speech about how a government program is the closest think in this world to immortality is a government program.
