I used to care for disabled men. One of them had hepatitis from a blood transfusion.
We were *very* careful.

I take it those who work in such jobs are at the low end of the spectrum for concern about germs and such.

Ebola has a very, VERY, short survival time outside of the human body. It’s reckless, but very doubtful any are infected.
With a small risk that one of these morons might actually catch the disease.
The proper course of action would be to ignore the apartment, let the occupants serve out their quarantine / illness, and then let them sort out the apartment.

My thoughts too - it would be worse to be wearing the suits on the way out than to have decontaminated and put them in the barrels. But, many here are so eager to jump the shark that they put the Fonz to shame...
Not knowing whether the containers were “hermetically sealable” If one were to give NY the benefit of the doubt, it could be that after the affected items were disinfected/gathered and sealed in the containers, the workers felt it okay to remove the PPE.
It’s a BIG stretch seeing as how videos I’ve seen about DECON involve boot baths, shower sprays, assistance of others to remove PPE, etc.
There’s no evidence for fomite transmission.
I would have worn the gear, but it’s probably going to be OK.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
