The Canadian National Anthem sung at the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game this evening in Pittsburgh following the terrorist attack in Ottawa today.

outstanding...i’ll never forget the 9-11 service they had in Ottawa just days after the attack....1000’s and 1000’s of people outside the parliament and one guy holding a big American flag aloft in the middle...

Very nice. I remember Great Brittan playing the star spangled banner during the changing of the guard on 9/12. Very moving and a great gesture from a good friend.

Yes indeed and the value of moral support cannot be underestimated. I take the chance of an off topic ramble here. A Russian Simusar freighter with tons of bunker oil and diesel oil lost power about three days ago. It drifted near Canada's west coast. Leaving Everett, Washington it was bound for Russia.
Canadian and American coast guard vessels and others joined in the approach of a pending ecological disaster. An American tugboat hauled it to Prince Rupert, British Columbia and it was secured safely.
Great stuff! The unsung heroes once again go into action.

I’d sent MLB an email suggesting they do the same before tonight’s WS game. I got back an automatic reply and have been too busy to see whether they did. The tribute in hockey venue may be more meaningful to our friends up north.
