After warning in August that hundreds of miners could lose their jobs, Boone County-based Coal River Energy has laid off 130 mine workers.

Coal River Energy spokesman James "Skeets" Loving confirmed the layoffs Tuesday.

In August, the company warned that 280 mine workers could be out of jobs.

Loving said the company laid off 130 employees on Oct. 11, while keeping 94 workers and finding other work for 56 others.

The affected mining areas are located near the border of Boone and Kanawha counties. Some are underground and some are surface mines.

The company pointed to poor coal markets and federal regulations.

Well, before the ‘08 election, Obama promised that if elected, he would shut down [my words] the coal industry. Evidently, this is what the American people wanted, because they elected him. You reap what you sow. You don’t plant turnips and reap peaches. America is getting what they voted for.

“Loving said the company laid off 130 employees on Oct. 11, while keeping 94 workers and finding other work for 56 others.”

Prices will go up people will be unemployed, and they will still vote Democrat.

I wish I can say I have sympathy.

It is a big plus not to have a job. The RAT’s will provide you with extended unemployment allowing you to pursue your calling in life..writing poetry, nature photography, studying quantum mechanics, things you never had time to do since you had to feed your family. Nancy Pelosi may have even more good ideas for you!

“It is a big plus not to have a job. “

Not to mention having a good reason to be angry at America and the conservatives, as all job losses are Bush’s fault.

And at the same time the union's home page was a letter of support for hussein. They voted for their pink slips.

The American people cannot seem to grasp the concept of “What you sow; you also reap.” In other words, you do not plant orange trees and pick strawberries from them.
