Kate Allat suffered a stroke at the age of 39 and the mother spent 10 days in a coma afterwards. Now that she is past that frightful ordeal, Allat reveals in a new interview that she heard everything going on around her in her hospital room and she was fearful her life support would be turned off.
Allat indicates that her mind was functioning normally during her coma but everyone around her thought she was brain-dead as she laid in her hospital bed paralyzed and unable to speak or breathe on her own. She listened in fright as medical staff discussed switching off her life support with her family.
It took two weeks before she was able to communicate with anyone, according to news reports.
LifeNews has focused on these kinds of cases before, where patients heard everything going on around them despite their comatose state. It’s another reason to oppose euthanasia and another reason why doctors and families should take their time before determining someone is “too far gone.”
“They thought I was in a vegetative state. I couldnt move a muscle. There was no signal I was in there,” She said.
“I was on life support and they might have turned it off.”
“I couldnt breathe for myself but I could hear conversations that I didnt want to hear.”
Lucky for Kate, she made a full recovery, and she is urging people to remain aware of the syndrome and strokes.
She also discusses the embarrassment of being in the state.
“There were nurses that spoke over me. They lowered their expectations of me,” she told The Daily Mail.
“It’s fair to call me a control freak so to be in that situation is awful.”
“Id be left on my shower seat for 20 minutes after a shower, naked.”
Under Obamacare there won't be any discussion, the death panel will just turn off the machines.

Did anyone do an EEG?
Gotta make room for the illegals. I wouldn’t be surprised if the black panthers turn off machines themselves.
This is horrific.
That’s what I was wondering too.
BTTT
The machines will be left on until the organs are harvested. Hopefully, they’ll still use anesthetic even though the subject is ‘brain dead.’
Id be left on my shower seat for 20 minutes after a shower, naked.
...
They put her in the shower while she was on a ventilator?
“Gotta make room for the illegals. I wouldnt be surprised if the black panthers turn off machines themselves.”
definitely agree about making room for the illegals but it won’t be the Black Panthers turning off machines.
Blacks hate that Mexicans are pushing them down the population ladder.
There was a kid from my HS with botulism a long time ago. It completely paralyzed him for something like 6-7 months, killed off every nerve in his body. Ran into him one time shortly after he recovered, the guy looked like death. Nothing but skin and bones. He told me he could not see, speak, or move a single muscle. But he could hear, everything. Trapped inside his body for months before his nerves started waking back up. Said it was the most depressing, terrifying, horrible experience he thinks he is likely to ever go through. He implied it was torment, sheer torture for months on end.
Trying to imagine what some of these people go through is impossible, the sheer terror, panic and helplessness. I often have sleep paralysis, accompanied by nightmarish dream creatures. I imagine it would be something like that, but about 100x worse. Wanting to scream out in panic, and move and run. But you can’t. I don’t want anyone to experience something like that. It must be horrible.
I couldn’t understand the drive to “make room for the illegals” at the expense of the lives of Americans until I heard an anti-Christian lefty the other day proclaim/admit that diluting of the culture indeed IS a primary goal of the left’s agenda.
Thank God people like her are speaking up.
In putting myself in this position,
I shudder to think what it’d be like
without a relationship with my Lord and Savior...
I would spend that time in “prison” talking with Him.
Otherwise, it’d be a little bit of hell, to be sure.
I do believe that was one of his only comforts. Talking to God. Also I know his friends and family were very supportive, always visited him on the weekends or whenever they could. However I know it was still a very dark “hellish” experience he was forced to endure.
The guy went to church frequently, and would talk to me about God during high school. So I am sure he prayed, lots. I am positive it helped very much as well. But a human mind just cannot take something like this without going a little bit insane. Luckily botulism is a well known type of food poisoning but rare, I think it took the hospital about a week or so to figure it out. Medical staff know that patients suffering from it can hear everything, so they are constantly talking, playing music, and trying to do whatever they can to ease the torment of being trapped inside your own body.
What this lady went through would be much, much, much worse. Knowing at any time they may pull the plug, and screaming in your mind, “NO I AM HERE! I AM ALIVE!” Just thinking about this brings tears to my eyes and I’m not kidding. Truly horrible beyond words and all comprehension. Many torture techniques pale in comparison to what this woman went through.
Thanks for the ping!
Hearing is the last to go. People in comas hear everything said around them. You would think medical professionals would know that.
