Richard Burr’s favorite judge legalized gay “marriage” in North Carolina around 5:30 PM on Friday. By Tuesday, the Administrative Office of the Courts — the state agency overseeing all those guys and gals in the black robes – had published the ground rules for this brave new era:

Gay marriage and ebola, both ravaging America at the same time. What are the odds?

Right on cue, ebola hits. Almost reminds one of Biblical pestilence.

I live in Charlotte and still don’t understand how this is legal because we have an amendment in the constitution stating that only man/woman marriages are recognized. So I would think they can get ‘married’ but legally its not recognized.

The difference is, it’s very tough for Ebola to spread and it can be contained.

Over ten years later and the legislature STILL hasn’t changed the marriage laws in Massachusetts, either.

Because a judge in Asheville said our ammendment wasn’t in accordance with the due process clause...

The ammendment is good to wipe our butts with and thats about it. We had hoped otherwise but the black robed tyrants decided that no, we do NOT have a right to define marriage as we want to.

Now, I don’t like it and you don’t like it but its more important that homosexuals like it apparently.

I have the freedom however to refuse to treat so called married homosexuals as at best broken people and at worst mental defectives. They will never be accepted or celebrated.

I have a friend who lives near Charlotte. He wanted to marry his partner so he could be counted among the cool kids.

His partner said “No way”.
My other friend in Charlotte left the state to marry his partner.

Hi bigtoona. Given the remote possibility that you haven't see the following explanation concerning how pro-gay activist judges are perverting the 14th Amendment concerning gay "marriage," you might find it interesting.

To begin with, judges cannot find new rights in 14A, such as the so-called "right" to gay marriage, for the following reason. The Supreme Court has historically clarified that 14A added no new constitutional protections. The amendment only strengthens protections which have been expressly amended to the Constitution by the states.

“3. The right of suffrage was not necessarily one of the privileges or immunities of citizenship before the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment, and that amendment does not add to these privileges and immunities. It simply furnishes additional guaranty for the protection of such as the citizen already had [emphasis added].” —Minor v. Happersett, 1874.

But more importantly, the Supreme Court's clarification of the scope of 14A reflects the official clarification of John Bingham about that amendment, Bingham the main author of Section 1 of 14A where the "due process" and "equal protections" clauses are found.

“Mr. Speaker, this House may safely follow the example of the makers of the Constitution and the builders of the Republic, by passing laws for enforcing all the privileges and immunities of the United States as guaranteed by the amended Constitution and expressly enumerated in the Constitution [emphasis added].” — Congressional Globe, House of Representatives, 42nd Congress, 1st Session. (See lower half of third column.)

So in order for judges to apply so-called gay "rights" to the states via 14A, the right to marry in this case, the states would first have to amend the Constitution to expressly protect such a right. But since the states have never amended such a right to the Constitution, there is no such right for corrupt judges to apply to the states via 14A.

Without Helms, NC just as well join with Lindsey’s SC, the way it was before, was it 1729?

One commenter makes a good point: since the AOC is overseen by the Supreme Court DID Chief Justice Martin sanction this??

If so I agree with their thoughts, maybe we need to remove our GOP NC endorsement!

If the “powers that be” choose to contain it. The PTB currently in place would either be negligent (best case, considering), or deliberately let it spread as yet another act to put this nation “in its place”. Either way, it would be a Judgment on this nation.

it is legal to do a lot of things....but as far as homosexual “marriage” is concerned....what if you can’t find anyone perverse enough to do it....Yes, I can do it, but no, I won’t.

AIDS is tough to spread, easy to contain.....and yet we caved to PC insanity. It has spread.

Ebola is easily contained, but to do so, will cause cries of ‘racism’ to erupt. We won’t do what is necessary. It too will spread.
