A trio of House Democrats is calling on President Obama to allow U.S. troops in West Africa to provide direct care to Ebola patients.
The Obama administration has already committed around 4,000 U.S. troops to help fight Ebola in the affected West African countries, but they are performing tasks such as building treatment centers and training local providers, not directly providing care.
Reps. Keith Ellison (Minn.), Karen Bass (Calif.), and Barbara Lee (Calif.) want to change that.

This - among many reasons - is why I would advise anyone to RUN away from military service.
Absolutely stupid thing to do. They aren’t trained for it. Now if we send them over there to set up a perimeter around quarantine camps where we put those that are infected then it makes sense.

That’s just brilliant. Have soldiers with no medical training risk death by caring for Ebola patients. I guess for Dems it’s not enough that many of them already risked death in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You will find this hard to believe, but there are FReepers who want our military involve with Ebola as train for bio-weapons. I don’t understand it, but they are certainly adamant about it.
