Dr. Tom Frieden: You know, charter flights don’t do the same thing commercial airlines do.

Megyn Kelly: What do you mean, they fly in and fly out?…

Particularly liked that part of the exchange. The good doctor's direction is coming from the top surely. How long will they hold this ridiculous stance?

This is why quarantining people in their homes will speed the spread of this disease.

Dr. Tom Frieden: If we isolate these countries, what’s not going to happen is the disease staying there.

Non-sequitir alert.

This is all you need to know about this asshat:
As Commissioner of the New York City Health Department from 2002-2009, he directed the city’s effort that reduced the number of smokers by 350,000, and reduced teen smoking by half. (while not a bad thing, still, too much government interference).
New York City also became the first place in the United States to eliminate trans-fats from restaurants, leading more than 50 national chains to eliminate transfat from their menus, and require certain restaurants to post calorie information prominently. (You know, the Moochelle program)
The New York City health department also established the largest community electronic health records project in the country. It became the model to expand electronic health record use across the nation. (You know, the electronic record that failed to forward that Duncan had come from Liberia)

We are so doomed and it isn’t the Ebola that will kill us it is the American dumbed down electorate that elected morons that appointed morons like the CDC guy to run the world from a liberal world paradigm.

There’s a grain of truth in this ocean of poor policy.

If nothing is done in West Africa, such that millions of people become infected, the chances of a breakout become higher than they are today.

Of course, that true fact has nothing to do with the issue under discussion.

Then make him and his family greet, hug, and kiss every Liberian traveler that arrives over here. Let him put up or shut up and change his story.

I’m sure the thought is that the USA has more of an ability to treat the World’s Ebola patients than African medical facilities do. Its yet another manifestation of the dangerous Liberal position that the American taxpayer is rich enough to support the entire World.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/14/health/cdc-frieden-facing-criticism/index.html?hpt=po_c2

Frieden began his career at the CDC by working on controlling tuberculosis, and then spent years stamping out the disease in India, as a CDC assignee to the World Health Organization.

http://www.fic.nih.gov/News/GlobalHealthMatters/july-august-2014/Pages/cdc-global-health-tom-frieden.aspx

Why is the CDC engaged in global health?
Sometimes, people wonder, “Why should we be involved in global health since we have so many challenges here at home?” But we can’t keep Americans safe just looking at our own country. We need to make sure that we’re not only protecting ourselves from diseases that can spread from elsewhere, but also learning lessons that can be learned elsewhere, sometimes more efficiently and effectively.

We’re also promoting stability around the world. We’re increasing economic productivity around the world and lifting all boats by having healthier communities. We’re promoting the reputation of America. I’ll never forget the woman I met in Nigeria who was holding her twin babies in her hands and she said to me, “I’m HIV-positive, but my babies are HIV-negative because of PEPFAR [the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief]. And thank the American people for me.”

And ultimately, our work in global health is so important to do because it’s the right thing to do, because we’re a great country and because for a very small investment, we can make a massive change in the lives of literally billions of people.

Pastor Knew He Had AIDS When He Had Affairs, Church Says
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/3215265/posts

But we can expect ebola survivors from Africa to be more honorable?

Since male ebola survivors are carriers for up to 80 days ...

Male Ebola survivors told: Use a condom [Reuters]
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3212396/posts

Do male ebola survivors get VISAs? Are they even instructed to use condoms at US airports? With the power to spread ‘random’ ebola outbreaks via unprotected affairs, would you trust this policy with our nation’s daughters or should they have 80 day quarantines before given their ‘VISAs’? [aka illegal immigration passes]

The head of the US infectious disease agency has said he is “confident” the US will not suffer a large outbreak of the deadly virus Ebola, currently devastating countries in West Africa.

Dr Tom Frieden told a Congressional panel the US could expect isolated cases but well-prepared hospitals could prevent a widespread epidemic.
