A cavalier attitude toward Ebola
The Kokomo Perspective ^ | October 13, 2014 | John Floyd

Posted on 10/13/2014 7:26:15 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Why didn’t I get a warm and fuzzy feeling when I heard Dr. Tom Freiden, director of the Centers for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention, make the following statement. Dr. Freiden stated, “I have no doubt we will control this case of Ebola so that it does not spread widely.” What does that mean? What is his definition of widely? From the very start of the Ebola epidemic the CDC has treated the disease with a cavalier attitude.

I don’t believe in inevitability. Inevitability occurs when nothing is done to affect outcomes. Inevitability of the introduction of the Ebola disease in the United States has been the continuing attitude and focus of the CDC from the time it realized Ebola had reached epidemic proportions in West Africa. The United States imposed no international restrictions on air travel from the affected West African countries, no restrictions on Americans travelling to and from the affected areas, and very little monitoring of the health of people coming to the United States from West Africa.

The CDC has said the only way for the disease to spread is through body fluids, therefore there is no need for airline passengers to be concerned. Can a sneeze which carries mucous be considered as a body fluid? Admittedly, I am not an epidemiologist or even a medical doctor, but some things just don’t make sense. And can’t an infected person desperately trying to get to the United States for treatment hide the common symptoms of Ebola?[continued]

Surprised he didn’t call it a jayvee disease.

Like ISIS, the problem is that the Obama administration didn’t take it seriously enough.

Commissar Frieden is an Obama acolyte. He is implementing the one world/no borders ideology of Obama. He has not and cannot explain why continuing commercial air service to West Africa is in the best security and health interests of the American people. It would be best to remove people who cling to politically correct delusions from important policy making jobs.

Well, yes, but nobody would do that... /s

Freiden, like all liberals, uses weasel words, fuzzy language, vague assertions and half-promises to maintain his plausible deniability...

Sneezing coughing and breathing release water vapor, a fluid, into the air. The bastards won’t say it, but they know it.

If ebola pierces the white hut, how would that be handled?

Actually, Frieden has "explained" why continuing commercial air travel is a good idea. The explanation, of course, is wholly illogical. It was tortuously contrived for the sole purpose of not doing what every infectious disease expert (and every rational person) knows needs to be done.

Despite the M.D designation, Frieden is a craven bureaucrat, not a doctor.

A country that increasingly embraces moral and spiritual filth will, one way or another, knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or otherwise, embrace physical filth. Embracing moral disease opens you to physical disease. In short, this country has been asking for it.

No doubt. The only JV team here is the Obama administration. They keep leaving the barn doors open and wonder, after reading in the paper, that the horses got out.

Dr. Freiden stated, “I have no doubt we will control this case of Ebola so that it does not spread widely.”

Dr. Freiden is, like most Obama appointees, way over his head. This is the first Ebola outbreak to reach more than two countries. This is the first Ebola outbreak to infect thousands of people. We have almost as many infected doctors and nurses in this outbreak as total patients in the worst previous outbreak.

There is no justification for his claim that it will not "spread widely", not when Ebola has already reached so many countries (Guinea, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Senegal, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Spain, and the United States) this year. Most people would agree that once a deadly disease reaches eight countries, it is getting pretty close to having "spread widely". It's a shame we have the JV team in charge of our country in this most critical collection of crises - a shame but clearly not a coincidence.

His recent claim, after spending billions on Level 4 units, has been that any ol’ podunk hospital can handle Ebola is beyond cavalier.

The fact that our leaders have stated that keeping travel open between our country and the source of the disease whether it affects the nation's health or not speaks volumes about the p.c. mindset of our elected officials and other morons. In other words, according to these dopes, it is far more important that we don't make some third world countries feel bad than the possibility that millions of American citizens might contract a horrible disease.

If ebola breaks out and thousands die in this country, I favor taking the officials responsible for letting it in the country taken out and shot.

Nail the doors and windows shut and set fire to the place!

I don’t think that you understand. The man occupying the Oval Office and his team know that Ebola was caused by a film made in California by a man there that insulted germs. And they’re going to find him and put him in jail. Don’t you worry. Then they will put germs in charge of a number of African countries and create the African spring
-board for the disease. It’s all under control.
